Having had my kids attend elsewhere at one time, I see a difference here. Even though I have tried to be friendly in the office, it is a bit chilly in there. I can see how someone can say it isn't a welcoming school. I try to be involved and am well enough received. It took a long time though.

I think that White Sulphur Elementary is an excellent school with this new scheduling that they are doing with the children this year is the best idea ever that just gives the student and that teachers a break from each other and I think we all know that sitting in a classroom with one teacher all day can get kind of boring and we are talking about first graders, I think that gives each first grader a chance to get to know all the teachers and gives them something to look forward to when it comes time to switch classes. I am as involved as I can be and we also have an awesome sports activities with caring parents as coaches.

I have tried to get help for my child. I get the feeling that to get help, my child would have to make the school look so wonderful to get on the radar. I have never been spoken to when I go in the office. So unless you were born here, you will have to make your own way through the school. Although my child needs a little help with her mild special needs, her teacher who does not have her own kids and cannot comprehend, acts as though my child is lazy and a bad attitude. She does not see beyond her own self importance. I really want to like this school, but is getting harder by the month.
