When my husband first obtained his position in Antigo, I was not alloted any time off to check into the school system's of Antigo. We ended up sending our 2nd grader to North Elementary and were sorely dissapointed. The curriculum seemed to repeat the base things learned in 1st grade at her previous school, the kids there were rowdy and disrespectful, and the teachers seemed forever angry. The following year, we sent her to Peace, and I was much happier with the whole environment and teaching practices. Teachers are compassionate, energetic, and dedicated to the learning of our children. In addition, I find the curriculum much more challenging, a must for learning. Thank you Peace!

My daughter attended Peace Lutheran School and we were very satisfied with the teacher and school. We are not members of the church or the clique groups. We were still treated with respect and our daughter got a lot out of the experience.

I teach at Peace (first grade) and happened upon this review accidentally. We are a Lutheran School and try our best to educate our students academically (whatever their level) while nurturing their faith and ministering to their families. If this parent was or is dissatisfied with Peace, I would hope he/she would give us the opportunity to discuss any issues he/she may feel are not being addressed. While we endeavor to help all of our students at every level, some students may need additional assistance or special programs. In that case, we work with the public school to provide services whenever possible. As a church school we do develop close relationships with our students and their families and we value the opportunity to develop this close relationship with our newer families also. This can only be done through honest, open communication and working together to help each student succeed.

I found it to be a very rigid, rules-oriented school with no support for slow-learning kids. The parent involvement tends to consist of a 'clique' of moms who are friends with the teacher and often dominate her time after school, so you can never have a discussion with the teacher about your child unless it is parent-teacher conference time. The principal or teachers do not value your concerns or take time to work with you to resolve issues.
