My 4 children are currently enrolled at St. John Vianney and we could not be happier with our school. They are receiving such a well rounded education from superb teachers. I do believe that my children are terrific readers because of the intense reading and phonics instruction that begins in 5K. Outside of the core curriculum, SJV has very strong instruction in art, music, computers, and spanish. They don't just sing a song in music, they have units on certain types like jazz. In art they will study the impressionists and then create their own Starry Night. The parent support and involvement is another high point. There are many volunteer opportunites and everyone is very welcoming.
Our daughter just completed 4k at SJV. We could not have been happier with school in general but particularly the 4k program. The teachers were wonderful. They emphasized learning in a fun, positive, yet structured atmosphere. There were plenty of opportunities for parent involvement and volunteering in the classroom. My daugher thrived in the setting created by the teachers and is more than prepared for the rest of her grade school years ahead.
My husband and I have been extremely happy with the education our son has attained while attending St. John Vianney (SJV). We were especially impressed by the K4 and K5 educators who were sensitive, experienced and genuinely driven to establish an exciting academic foundation for our child. We are especially pleased with the literacy program of the early grades - it includes phonics instruction, phonemic awareness instruction and the use of authentic children's literature. The 2010-2011 school year brings a new principal to SJV; therefore, we are unable to comment on the new leadership. In terms of parent involvement, there is a plethora of parents willing to dedicate their time and efforts to create a fun, efficient school. Most importantly, the foundation of the school is based on Catholic principles. Without a doubt Christianity is reflected in the staff and students.
Our daughter just finished 4K at SJV and we could not have been happier with the school. She was taught so many great personnal and academic skills at her own level and really had fun. The Christian fundamentals learned at an early age willl hopefully remain with her fos life. The teacher was very good with working with each child as an individual as well as in groups. The families and clasmates have been wonderful. We are looking forward to many great years ahead at the school.
