Although my child has not started in any of the middle school grades I do have a concern for when she does start there. I have not heard very good things about the middle school in regards to bullying. I have heard that kids who tell on other kids for bullying are sometimes considered tattle tales and more times then not nothing is done to help them. Just know that if my child is bullied excessively like I have heard other kids are in that school I will be there to assist in any way possible. I realize that kids need to find a way on their own to deflect bullying in some cases but if it becomes excessive I will be there for my child. The kids that bully need to have a 3 strike rule. When the child has that 3rd strike they need to do 2 days of community service on their own time or they can be suspended. Community service could be like picking up litter around the school or helping with the volunteers that pick up litter in the ditches or even giving a speech they have written that has been approved to younger kids on why bulling is bad. As the kids who bully get older they need to feel a self worth and helping others just may give that to them.
