I went to DCS all throughout my gradeschool years and I LOVED it! If DCS had a highschool, I would go there.

There is no other place that I would rather have my kids. They not only receive a quality education, but it is Christ-centered. What we teach at home is not being questioned at school, but re-enforced. The teachers are caring and go the extra mile. The students are also given the opportunity to play sports, participate in forensics and plays, take band, and participate in music, spelling, math, and geography competitions. The atmosphere is one of family where my children always feel accepted and loved.

This school is a SOLID family school. My children have truly "changed" since coming to this school. Yes, just like any other school it's not perfect. But I will tell you, where it counts (education and christian morals), it is spot on! The atmosphere of the school is very much the same as family unit. The teachers come along side of you with parenting and always have your children's best interest in mind. I am not from the church next door and never felt left out or not part of the school. There are tons of oppurtunities to volunteer and get to know others better. They have a great sports program for 5-8th and because it's a small school your child is really PART of the team. I love this school and will continue to support and encourage people long after our 3 children graduate from there. God has really blessed our family by providing us with this school!!

I was fortunate to have attended DCS when I was in grade school and it played a huge part in molding me into the adult I am today. My husband and I are now blessed to have our own children attending DCS. There is a feel at the school that is nearly impossible to put into words, but it can be felt as soon as one walks in the door. If I had to choose one word, it's "family." It is not uncommon for my Kindergartener to come home and talk about how the eighth graders played tag with her at recess or pushed her on the swings. I also have a three-year-old who is greeted by name by all the "big" kids. And the best part is that I trust these older kids to be around my little ones and love the Christ-like example that my kids see in other students, teachers, and parents. DCS is one of those rare places that nurtures the soul and teaches strong Christian values within a loving environment, while also providing the academic rigor that has proven itself year after year as the graduates go on to have very successful and involved high school careers. It is true it takes a village to raise a child, and I'm so incredibly blessed that my "village" includes the DCS family!

We have had children at this school for the last 12 years and it has been a great experience. My oldest daughter is now in high school and was ahead of the other students academically when she arrived. They have had a chance to participate in choir, forensics, various sports, and musicals plus benefited from small class sizes. The teachers have an impressive list of credentials, unlike many other Christian schools. They truly care for the children and go above and beyond to help them in any way they can. I would highly recommend this school.

Our son was at DCS from Preschool through 8th grade and was very well prepared for High School. He was challenged academically, had good friends, and had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including theater and sports. We felt very welcomed by the staff and families. The teachers brought their faith into all areas of education.

This school offers a strong academic program and an amazing assortment of extracurricular activities. They offer soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and track for grades 5-8. Their music program is strong, and their production of 'Annie' was amazing.

Use caution for this school. To make up for teaching religion, they often cut Reading and Math to the point they only teach those subject about 3 minutes a day. They need to lengthen the day. Our child was behind in those subjects when they went to public school. Also, while they list themselves as a non-denominational school, unless you belong to the church next door, you are not welcome to make suggestions. It is very hard for an outsider to have any say or get any respect for opinions. The school board also is closed to having too many 'outsiders'. While there is a strong sense of pride in this school, they tend to exclude those who do not go to church there. I wish I had homeschooled. The lack of true academic challenge makes it tough for those who later have to attend public school.

I have had children at D.C.S. for the last three years. It has been a wonderful experience. The class sizes are small, allowing for excellent teacher/student interaction. There are many extracirricular activities such as forensics, drama, music and several sports. The teachers are concerned not only with the children's education but also their Christian growth. I find it to be a very warm environment where the children are truly kind to each other. It is such a blessing to be able to send your children off to a place where you know that they are not only learning the basics, but they are in an environment that promotes God's greatest commandment to us: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. And the next greatest commandment: love your neighbor as yourself. I would highly recommend this school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
