We have children in multiple grades here, and there seems to be an issue at every grade level with one thing or another. Students with special needs are sent off to Lakeland or their needs are not met in the regular school.
My son is going in to 5th grade and he gets trouble for things that other kids do but they don't get in trouble. It's VERY cliquey between the kids teachers and parents. The teachers never tell me whats going on with my child or what he needs help with. my son will NOT be going here I am taking him to Westside.
This is my chid's first year at Jackson and we are quite unhappy. Parents are cliquey with small town mind sets, staff is unfriendly and the principal is not accessible. My son is learning a lot, but I'm very disappointed in how unwelcomed I feel each time I enter the building. We are considering moving so he doesn't have to go there next year.
This school is great for children who do good in school. However, if you have a child that struggles in school, this is not a good fit for him. The administration will make up excuses after excuses why your child does not need an IEP. They will just slide your child right through the system. It's very frustrating. If I could afford to send my child elsewhere, I would!
Love this school! Teachers are amazing very willing to help and work with kids. The pta is great lots of invloved parents! Teachers really work together as a team which can be hard to find.
Teachers are great, kids are cliquey, as in any small town setting. The class sizes are large with 22-26 students.
My grandchildren are in 2nd and 3rd grades at Jackson and they are doing very good. I think it is a great school. Keep up the good work!
this is the first year at this school for my kids.it is a good school for those children that don't need to much extra help.my daughter is doing great but my son in not doing as well at this school.the class sizes are a lillte to big. the pta does alot of fun family things for the school.i do not think my kids will be going back to jackson next year.
