I went through the Ellsworth Schools and now my kids are attending Ellsworth schools. I am very happy with the school district, they offer many advanced courses, a wide variety of music and art classes and alot of after school activities. I feel that the kids are all treated very fairly. The kids have access to an amazing teaching staff who go above and beyond for their students. I am so pleased to have my kids going to school in Ellsworth. I would not want them to be going anywhere else. The Early childhood program and special ed. depts are wonderful also. The teachers in our district are top notch in my opinion. I feel that I got a great education in this school and I feel my kids are getting the same great education. I'm confident they won't have problems getting into any college they chose when that time comes.
Ellsworth Senior High School has a well qualified staff and offers a rigorous and challenging curriculum for the college bound student. There is also a wide variety of electives to assist all students in finding a career path. Our family is not from the area originally and we found that you must become involved in school or church organizations to establish contacts within the community. There are also a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities available in the middle school and high school. In the past few years the local school board has gone to great lenghts to support sports activities at all levels while many other school districts have had to make budget cuts in those areas.
Ellsworth High School is a very name oriented school. If you don't have a popular name in town, your kids are doomed to fail. They support misconduct of popular students, and discipline the others. I had always heard bad things about the school, before I lived here. I figured it was just heresay. Now, my kids are experiencing things that I can't believe. I graduated validictorian from my High School in Wisconsin, and can't believe the difference. Stay away from the Ellsworth area if you have children.
