If you go to the middle school or high school and are not involved in the sports programs or an honor student you are not given the same help and attention. They may have a high rate of kids that go on to college but everyone is not treated the same and it is sad for the kids who do not get involved.

I am not a parent, but a former student that graduated a few years ago. While I don't disagree that I received a fairly good education, I will say that too much attention is put on sports and not nearly enough on special education needs. Myself and a friend of mine went all the way through the Greendale school system without ever being diagnosed with ADHD and ADD (respectively). We were continuously told that we just needed to crack down. We are both of superior intelligence, something that we learned after being tested for ADD and ADHD. Greendale High School provides a quality public high school education. I feel that I was sufficiently prepared to enter my first choice of post-secondary education. I never felt like I was 'taught to the test' as is the growing problem in many public schools. The teachers are amazing and love what they do. The math department could use some sprucing-up because I do not know of even one Greendale alumni who actually enjoyed their math classes. The English department, however, is absolutely stellar, as is the fine arts department. The bands and the choirs add so much to the school and to the educations of the students who participate in them. Sports are fairly good, although it is clear that football and basketball take prescedent over every other sport, whether or not they deserve it. Parents take are very interested in their children's education at Greendale and are very involved.
