I am thrilled with the high quality of education at this school. I have had a child attend public school and now a child through this school. Both are high quality in teacher quality and care for students. I've never seen a principal as involved as Mrs. B. She is deeply in the day to day administration and attends every single event, no matter the hours. Parents are very involved in the classrooms as there is a 20 hr/year volunteer commitment. This is a good thing. Yes, some parents are cliquey, but no more so than I found in the public school setting. It's annoying, but you find that behavior wherever you go, sadly speaking from experience. The ones that are the worst are the parents who all went to high school together and haven't moved beyond that. The school wins national awards for quality. The facilities are starting to show their age, although the school does a great job with what they have. Tuition is not cheap, but it's worth it to have not only the quality, caring teachers (which I can get for free in my school district), but also the Christian education where these principles are lived out. My child has only been in the 4k and 5k programs, but so far so good.
My son just started kindergarten this year, but so far we love it. The teachers are awesome, the other staff is very friendly, and everyone I have encountered acts and treats each other with a Christian perspective. The before and after school program is very nice for working parents. I literally have to peel my son out of there after being at the school for 8 hours. He loves it! Can't ask for more than that!
Not the same school it use to be. Some good teachers left, but a lot are not qualified to teach their positions. Many staff are related and they hire lots of parents who's children get special attention. Math and music are a joke in this school. No challenging work for the gifted child. Lots of problems at recess time with lack of staff paying attention to the kids. Administration is lacking, bad communication with parents and don't always follow Christian behavior. The school is dirty and the lunch is expensive and expired. Unfriendly staff at times. You will probably love the younger years but then the school is lacking above that. I will need deep pockets if you go here. I am very disappointed in the money I spent here for the quality I received.
I can not say many good things about this school. It has changed a lot; which is a very sad statement. Staff put on a good show but when it got down to it, many teachers lack education and experience. Most of the teachers here are 1) related or 2) knew each other from elsewhere, like college friends, kids of friends, etc. One of the principals of hales corners lutheran school participates in several personal activities that very much effects his interaction with children and staff, (not a positive situation). I wish I could say what that situation was but as a parent and teacher I removed my child from this school for that reason predominently. He currently works here. This school lacks in many areas. This school tends to hire parents to do teacher roles and on several occasions there were some big gossip problems of the teachers gossiping about certain students in their class & those student's parents. They gossiped to other teacher's and to their children & their children's friends, (in the same grade as victim students). Save yourself a lot of drama and money and send your child to a different school.
My kids have been there for the last 6 years! They challenge my daughter that is advanced and have given the help my younger son needed with special vision training (Gemstone) and other assistance. The teachers are all caring and loving individuals who want to get to know you, your family. The Christian atmosphere is the best!!!!!
This is an excellent school for ages 1-4. All the full-time teachers have 4-year education degrees & they are so dedicated to the young children. My only wish is that I was able to get my son in sooner (I was on the waiting list for 1 year).
