I just finished 8th grade in 2010 and to be honest, I loved each year. I sadly only joined musicals my last year abd was amazed how well our show turned out! Mckiley has a wonderful theater program. As for classes, I feel I got alot out of each one. The band program is lead by a truly driven conductor who brings the best out of each student. I am proud to say that I am a Mckinley graduate.

I have to agree with the reviews below. This school is pathetic. They just can't seem to do anything well. Their sports program is a joke, they can't even get enough students to tryout for the teams and of those that do half of them end up riding the bench due to refferals and bad grades. This school is run like a concentration camp. 8th grade students have to sit with their class at lunch and wait to be dimissed and walked to their next class. Come high school all the Mckinley students will be waiting in the cafetaeria for someone to walk them to class. My child has completed his 3 years here and we can't wait to move on. There is a serious lack of envolement and school spirit from both the teachers and the administrative staff. KUSD should do a better job of equality across all schools.

This is my 3rd child that has attended McKinley Middle. I have seen a huge downfall in this school. I have to say that I don't agree with the way they handle the students at all! They seem to be more worried about what a child is wearing then what they are learning! The teachers do not work as a team, I think they have forgotten why they took this career up in this first place , it seems to turned in to more of a job than their passion to teach. I have to practically drag my son to school and at age 12 he should be still enjoying it. The teachers have No resspect at that schhol. If they want it they they need to give it! My house is on the market as we speak to get out of the district. And that is pretty sad.

I think the staff needs to talk more to the students instead of trying to control them. There is a lack of respect given to the children in my eyes. I am a parent of a child that joins all sports. So I am at the school a great deal. I believe that if respect is given it will be returned. If learning is made fun you will have better test scores. This school is run like a concentration camp. I should point out my child has never been in trouble at school. This is all what I have seen.
