Quality of academics: average at best. This school is a very small community elementary school and seems to prize field trips, ice cream and junk food coupons above hard academics. Very little new material is covered from one year to the next. There is NO flexibility for students with learning differences--everyone goes through the same cookie cutter curriculum regardless of his/her needs. Students are not well recognized for academic achievement, as the school would prefer to operate with a sort of phony egalitarianism, rewarding mediocre students the same as they would those who are outstanding (on the silly pretext that singling people out for achievement would make the rest of the students 'feel bad' instead of inspiring them to a greater standard). Slightly better than daycare.
This school is AWESOME. The teachers are awesome and all of the staff is awesome. I love sending my kids to school every day because everything about this school works together with the parents and children.
