My daughter is finishing kindergarten at Lapham and we have been very impressed. Her teacher is excellent and the material they learn is fun and advanced. I was worried my child would not be challenged but that is not the case. She attends a reading group with accelerated readers, and she gets extra assignments and reading to do at home that she enjoys. The parent teacher group is organized and getting stronger. The principal is very engaged and present, and well liked.

The teachers at Lapham are caring and dedicated; they are current on best teaching practices and try to meet the different needs of a wide range of ability levels. The principal is hard-working. I wish that the school atmosphere was warmer and more energetic, though. Lapham parents are a dedicated, intelligent, open-minded, and involved group as well, and the Lapham student body is diverse and bright. In any given classroom, there are one or two students whose behavior seems to challenge the teacher, but I think that the school does a good job of meeting the needs of its very diverse student body.

First-rate veteran teachers , sympathetic , hard-wroking principal . School garden run by parent, superb after school program (privately run). A pool and excellent music classes. Parental involvement dropping off some, as drop in volunteerism overall, but may be coming back. Overall, could not be happier with the results for both our children.
