The new administration has streamlined many processes and is not only professional but accessible and caring. In many states parents choose parochial education because the public schools are not strong. The Mequon/Thiensville school system is very strong and yet families love what Lumen Christi offers. That speaks volumes. Parents choose Lumen Christi not only for academics but for the other things that form our children: community, smaller class size= more attention, and faith-centered curriculum. These elements are celebrated. Lumen Christi is not diverse in terms of culture, nor is the community it is in. Nor is the northshore of Milwaukee. Mequon/Thiensville has less than 8% ethnic representation. With that said, Thiensville's median income is 53K and median house cost is 230K. Mequon's median household income is 100K and house price is 373K. There's a good spectrum of diverse socio economic status coming together at Lumen Christi which is refreshing. The 4K full day program truly prepares students to hit the ground running in 5K. Mrs. Milazzo(4K), Michele Neuville(5K) are phenomenal educators. Mrs Ittner's use of technology in 2nd grade brings family into the class. Wonderful
Good school but currently faces administrative issues such as principle selection. Start kids early, because it may be difficult to fit in, if you haven't found your group. Also not so diverse (white). Good faith education and english as well as social studies, but poor math and okay sciences. As compared to public schools, the highest level you can be as a freshman in high school is Geometry, because of a lack advance math programs. A great guidance service, Mrs. L, and overall caring teachers. Good facilities and technology such as SMART Boards, that teachers make an effort to use. Students do have to wear uniforms, but I found that was better in a way, you don't have to worry about what to wear-there are regular clothes days. Overall good school, but some school processes could be streamlined. Overall pretty good, you'll make some good friends. (Also go to the same high school that your friends go to, as it will make it more enjoyable experience)
