The Principal and staff are top notch. Merrill is a caring, family-oriented, close-knit community that supports our kids and our schools.

I don't feel that prairie river middle school has what it takes to be a excellent school.

I am acturally a student at PRMS, and it's really a great school. There's a lot of things kids can do after school. Like; track, the school play, yearbook, basketball, and much more. And if you think this school is bad because you kid says there's nothing to do there, they're way wrong. And you should be enrolling them in activites after school so they're moping around the house.

My daughter, in 7th grade, participates in band, forensics, in-school tutoring, the After-The-Bell program, the school play, and the accelerated art program. There are many sports programs available including a completely sponsor-funded swim team. There are special education and gifted and talented programs. PRMS scores consistently high in statewide and national testing and uses technology-based programs (accelerated reader and math) to help students achieve. Parent involvement could be better and parent-teacher communication is sometimes slow. The school secretaries could have more detailed information about school events and the webpage could be more informative. However, I receive a daily email of assignments and announcements and I can check grades and attendance on-line. The teachers often provide home numbers. A Community Outreach Program provides parenting classes and assistance to those who wish to participate. Each month there is a Middle School Night at the community recreational center and there are school-sponsored dances.

this school is ok, my daughter doesnt get challenged enough there so she is always bored. there is a band class (she hated) a choir class and an after the bell program. there are many sports. and some extracurricular activites. i personally dont care for this school too much but good luck with it.the parent and school/teacher involvement is not very good. so unless my daughter tells me whats going on im generally clueless.there are a lot of things i would change if i could.
