This school has the BEST teachers in the city. The reason why I say this is because I too, am an educator who has been the guest speaker there on several occasions, and what I have realized is that the youth that come to school with the most problems, need the most patient and devoted teachers and this is a school where you will find that. These are the students that have been written off by other schools, by administrators, teachers, MPS as a whole, but CYD is a place where they will still find a little hope and a little hope is just enough to spark a new flame in a lantern that has been dim for much too long. Kudos CYD!!

Some of the teachers are very unprofessional, giving the students their home address,and telephone numbers. Grades are given not earned.
