This school is simply amazing. The TAC program and the modular scheduling is a huge reason we chose it. Our child is finally being challenged in the classroom (Catholic grade school was b-o-r-i-n-g), excelling in school and growing in her faith. This school produces such well-rounded kids. Their only downfall is that they don't do a great job recruiting in Waukesha.

To me(A parent), Staff seems very nice and when i called they answered w/good manners. Teaches are willing to help only if you ask them to. My child who is in Pius feels that they are not helping her/him getting ready for college. Hallway is full of noise students and teachers don't care, Library is a zoo and when you walk by the student`s bathrooms you can smell smoke and nobody says anything.

I am a current student at Pius XI High School. This school is not worthy of a two, it is worthy of a -57839. This school is great in terms of education BUT some teachers are incredibly disrespectful, rude, and take advantage of their authority. Other teachers are great but they're more bad teachers than they're good. Some teachers show favoritism. The students are ridiculous and some walk around with no shoes on. The ladies in the main office are amazing but some of the rules are unnecessary. I know someone who was put on probation for being two minute late 9 times. In conclusion, this school is a force.

If you like teachers who blatantly favor students who are star athletes, regardless of their academic ability: this is the school for you. There are some nice teachers, and then you have the arrogant ones. Unfortunately, the arrogant teachers outnumber the ones who truly love to teach, and love their students. It's a shame, really. Save your hard-earned money for family vacations, and send them to a suburban school. You'll thank me later.

I would have to agree with the negative reviews on this site. My spouse graduated from this school some 30 years ago & absolutely loved it. One of my three children graduated a couple of years ago, & I am so grateful this period of our lives is over. Course offerings & some of the teachers are wonderful, but it is the adminstration that will be the demise of this once great school. Their enrollment has gone done significantly over the past few years, & they try to cover up any negativity that is going on in the school by ignoring & denying it.

My daughter is a 20XI graduate of Pius XI and had a wonderful educational experience. The TAC system is phenomenal. Pius XI did an exceptional job preparing her for college. Her younger siblings aspire to earn the privilege to attend this fine Catholic high school. Go Popes!!

Teachers very inconsistent. Some teachers have grading systems don't fail a child unless they have less then 20% proficiency - not exactly college prep material. Parents who pay the bills given very little consideration. Buyer bewatre!

I recently graduated from Pius (Class of 2009) and received over $150,000 of scholarship offers ALONE, my class received over 11 million in offers this year in total. I don't know any other school in the area who received offers like that. For those who complain about the tuition I had $3,500 in scholarships every year and the Fin. Aid. dept. and guidance dept. are always helpful when it comes to applying for aide and scholarships. Pius is a fantastic school and I highly recommend it.

Pius is an amazing school, full of opportunities. Even though tuition is costly, I'm glad I made the choice to come here. Pius has helped me to find out my interests and the school really does cater to you. Teachers are always there to help, students are friendly, and the schedule is WONDERFUL. I'm never bored.

I currently have a daughter attending Pius as a sophomore, and I'm glad to say I am pulling her out of the school next year. Pius has some great teachers, and some great courses, however the 'great' only plays in about 20 percent. The tuition is ridiculous, 8,000$ and they are upping it to 10,500$ next year. Not only do I have to pay tuition but I also find myself paying many other fees such as, 50$ for my child to add and drop classes, even though it is mandatory by the school. My child once had a saturday detention, and I had to pay 10$ for her to attend the mandatory detention. The staff is also very, very rude to students and parents, and everytime I call I recieve attitude. Thumbs down Pius.

I am currently a senior at Pius & I think it is a wonderful school. I will be graduating in May with close to 30 credits due to the AMAZING amount of AP courses that I have been able to take at Pius. Compared to many of my friends from Marquette & Divine Savior who will graduate with none, this is fabulous. I literally have never had a bad teacher & have found the staff & students to be friendly, helpful, and passionate about their work. I have never had a problem feeling left out or left behind. I went to a public elementary school/middle school & am so happy that I switched over to a private school setting. Some of my favorite memories from Pius are from our annual Thanksgiving drive and all school masses and blessings. I cannot think of a better place to be.

Excellent school offering many opprotunities for students in all aspects. High level of art program and sports programs. There is something for every type of student. The level of particapation is up the them, as is the level of parental participation. My daughter received an excellent education from caring teachers. There were bumps along the road, as every school has. I highly recommend Pius, especially if your child is planning on college.

I'm sorry, there are some TERRIBLE reviews on here...Pius is an amazing school! I've been tremendously happy with my education there. I'm especially talking to the one person who started their review with 'Save your money, people!' Your review was insensitive, and I can not honestly believe that your family has Pius alumni, and you can still think what you do! I am part of Pius's rugby and soccer teams, have ZERO relatives there, and I'm co-captain, so you need to keep your fingers off the keys if you don't know what you're writing about. Pius is a great school, with fantastic teachers and an excellent environment to learn.

I think some of the very few negative comments here might be made by the same (unhappy) individual. As a parent of one former student and one current student, my wife and I couldn't be happier with Pius. We've found excelent teachers who really do care about kids, and an administration that is very receptive and helpful. Pius is an innovative place, on the cutting edge. If you want to send you son or daughter to a school that is forward thinking and that will challenge them to grow and learn--academically and in their faith--then Pius is THE place. As for the 'drug problem' at Pius, my kids have told me there is less of it going on at Pius than in other schools, only Pius chooses to do something about it, with workshops, support groups, assemblies. They're not afraid to deal with the issue rather than pretend it's doesn't exist.

Pius may have been a great school, in my experience not anymore! My child just graduated and I would have to say we did not get our monies worth! No stand-out teachers to speak of and lots of politics in sports. If you want to send your child to a diverse school, save your money and go to a public school. Pius is not much better. I tell everyone save for college instead!

I have 2 children currently at Pius. The academics are excellent and extracurricular activities abound. There is something for everyone. Pius is an extra-special place built FOR HS students. The modular schedule prepares students for college life as do the classes. My son will take 4 AP classes next year (senior),and is also participating in a theater trip overseas-1 of 30 HS nationwide. We couldn't be more pleased and my children are being more than prepared for college. In addition they have met a great group of friends who are making good choices and they are surrounded by teachers and administrators who are simply the best. I am heavily involved as are many. I am sorry that someone who is bitter about their child sitting on the bench wrote poorly of Pius. It is a large school and there is a high level of competition in all athletics.

save your money people! my family are all pius alumni including my son who just graduated last may. pius has changed thanks to school choice and all the politics that administration allows to go on. b.s. they really care! They care about your tution check maybe? drive by pius at 3 pm sometime you will not believe you are at a catholic high school. my younger son will not be attending for sure. also, forget if your child is active in sports, if you are not the child of a coach, teacher, or standout alumni they are certain to sit the bench! ask adminisration about recruiting? they claim they do not do it, haha. i have never been happier for that horrible chapter in our lives to be over.

I just graduated from Pius, ranked in the top 10 in the class. Even so, I do not feel that Pius prepared me for college in the field of study that I want to enter. We must face it, Pius cannot even offer AP Calculus BC or AP Computer Science. However, this is because 99% of the study body could not handle the material, so there isn't enough interest. .

Seems like the August 2003 respondents didn't actually attend the school. I graduated from Pius XI in 2001. Through their AP (Advanced Placement) program, I earned 15 credits towards college. Through extra course involvement in fine arts through the 'Connect-Ed' program, I received another 8 credits. Taking advantage of these excellent opportunities allowed me to graduate from UW-Madison with an engineering degree in 3 and a half years. I highly recommend Pius- the academic program is challenging and rewarding, the fine arts program is expanding and well recognized, and the extensive athletics opportunities provided me with ways to meet wonderful friends and keep in shape. I plan to send my children to Pius.

I am a student at Pius XI and I enjoy the environment that the student teacher relations create. At Pius XI the teacher is a friend and guider as well as an instructor. The students create a great atmosphere where everyone can find a friend if they look.

Should we pay for our children's high school or college tuition? As parents, we couldn't do both; we took a gamble on Pius...and our children are the winners! We have 2 Pius alums, and one undergrad. Strong points include a diverse student body, academic rigor, emphasis on Christian morality and social justice, wide variety of course offerings, modular scheduling, TAC (daily teacher advisor contact) and an exceptional fine arts program. Our son developed an interest in visual arts as a junior, and though this was 'late' in his high school career, with the guidance of visual arts staff, developed a portfolio strong enough to generate numerous scholarship offers from private art colleges. In 2005, Pius visual arts students were offered over 2.5 million in scholarships...amazing! Pius tackles social issues (drugs, alcohol, std's, morality) a public high school couldn't. As young adults, our children are well-read, articulate, caring members of the community.

I felt the quality of the academic program was absolutely stellar. Although it is a bit pricey, r was absolutely in love with the extracurricular activities available to me, including the music and theater programs, as well as the sports programs. Pius has so much to offer to a variety of students. In response to other parents' comments about fitting in; I was never a social butterfly but I found a surprisingly wide variety of people to relate to at Pius. I am so glad I went to this wonderful school.

My daughter is a freshman at Pius and it has been a wonderful experience for her so far. She has gotten to know a variety of people, is challenged academically and feels very much a part of the Pius community. We are confident that we have chosen the right high school. The modular scheduling makes each day's schedule a little different - this helps break up the monotony of a traditional schedule. She enjoys going to school!

Ever since I came to Pius, I have been participating in the fine Arts program, including the choir program. Through the fine arts, I have been able to learn the true worth of dedication, self determination, and perseverance. It is because of such excellent teachers that are willing to spend more time with the students than even their own children that this program has maintained an unsurpassed excellence. The Promotional CD which the Choir Department released in the spring of 2004 is a prime example of what can be achieved at Pius XI High School when students and staff strive for the very best. If you want to realize your full potential, come see Pius.

Both of my sons graduated from Pius. I would and have highly recommended to friends that they have their sons and daughters attend this fabulous school. They have problems like any other school but handle them in a christian manner. Their academic programs are outstanding. The TAC system is the greatest and their system of programming helps considerably to prepare students for life after high school. I feel my boys flourished in college due to this experience. Pius teachers expect high standards and get them because they respect their students and encourage parental participation.

I am a former student of Pius and graduated in 2004. Pius is a wonderful school, and I would never want to spend the four most formative years of my life at any other school! The teachers work with students in every class, from the unique Special Education-style classes Pius offers (the only high school in the archdiocese to do so) to the Advanced Placement classes students take to earn college credit. I consider many of the teachers to be mentors because they related to me personally inside and outside of schools. Two teachers are flying to DC this August with me and four other students from my European History class just because we five wanted to see the Holocaust Museum. The teachers support the students' goals and help the students to realize.

Pius XI is a leader in teaching academics in an atmosphere of social responsibility. If you are looking for a school where 'anything goes' this is not the school for your child. If you are looking for a school where your child will be made to 'tow the mark' in their studies as well as sports and other school activities this is the school for you.

My Sophomore son is a third generation Pius student. Although 'the times they are a changin'', Pius has maintained higher than expected standards both educationally and morally. As with any good school, what you take out of the experience is up to you; but, at Pius, one can never say that there are not boundless opportunities to shine in any number of avenues - be it sports, fine arts, or scholastically. Witness the sheer number of teachers who have spent their entire career teaching at Pius; and duly note the number of graduates who choose high school education as their career and choose to return to Pius as teachers - this speaks volumes about the genuine affection and respect that Pius breeds in its graduates.

Our experience with Pius High School has been outstanding. The TAC system is wonderful for creating an environment of support. Most teachers we have encountered have spent long hours outside of the classrooms with the students. The Fine Arts program is outstanding. The music and theater are perhaps the best in the Milwaukee area. Pius High School is one of the top ten prep schools in the country for visual arts. One clue, is to look at the large number of alumni visiting the school and the teachers during college holidays.

You dont have to be a parent to know the inside scoop about this school. Send your children there and they will be alienated, isolated, and meant to feel completely powerless to shape their own futures. Some of the teachers there genuinely care about the students, but the majority are disgruntled underpaid sports coaches who take their frustrations out on their students. In short, if you want to teach your children how to feel completely worthless and put them in the hands of control-freaks, send them to Pius XI
