Last week I went to parent teacher conference at Concordia-Granville. This was the best conference I have ever had. I have a child that is in middle school and a child in lower elementary. The conference was very informative and I look forward to my child's report card. The middle school teachers gave me a lot of information about my child and her habits in class. This is a great school and I look forward to working with the teachers and the principal.
Concordia University School is a very positive school, not only concerned with the students grades but the student as a person. (faith, grades, well being) Concordia University School has an outstanding team of teachers who aren't here for a job but are here to make sure the students are successful. With extra help from teacher five nights a week and Saturday school if needed, Concordia is making sure no child falls between the cracks.Concorida University School has outstanding parent /family events at least two times a month, so that the Student can see that the parents and teachers are both concerned about the student and showing the student that his/her parent and teacher can come together in a fun atmosphere. Concordia University School a safe, Christian schoo which focuses on educational success, leadership development and spiritual growth continues to transforming students everyday.
"Success is the only option"- at Concordia we prepare your child for college using practices deeply rooted in Common Core State Standards. Your child will also be submersed in a Christ-centered school environment where he/she is able to embark on his/her own journey of faith.
I love Concordia university School. My son has been going since k4, he will be going to 2nd grade. My son has really approved his grades as well as his behavior. I am grateful, to have wonderful teachers that love their career.
Great school great teachers nice location great principal students well behaved since my son has been enrolled he has become a hard worker great listener all around model student
My children have attended this school for over 8 years. The environment is warm and welcoming and the teachers and students operate as a family. The communication amongst the teachers and parents is open and encouraged. The cirriculum challenges students to work harder. I think this a great choice for a school.
I am a parent voluteer and I see great things happening everyday and the staff works hard with the kids.
Hands down Concordia University School is one of the best schools in Milwaukee. My children first came when they were in K4 and K5. I fell in love with the teachers and the school as a whole. Their christian values and beliefs helped shaped my children spiritually. Their high academic standards has also helped shape my children academically. The beginning of this school year, I moved my children to another school for connivence. BIG MISTAKE. They were not being challenged so I hurried up and brought them back. I can honestly say that each teacher is dedicated to teaching. Come August 2013 my children will be in 3rd and 4th grade. I thank God for schools like Concordia University School and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a school that wants what's best for our children!
Concordia is a great Christian school that is dedicated to teaching children about the importance of being their best in school and also in their everyday Christian walk. The principal is awesome and she truly cares about the students. She treats each child as she would treat her own, and she also expects greatness from each student. I would strongly recommend this school to anyone one because I love that teaching about Jesus is part of the curriculum. I love the overall curriculum. The only thing I don't like is the turnover. Teachers don't usually stay for a long period of time and students have to get use to new faces coming into the school, but the teachers are usually excellent. I haven't had any issues with any new teachers who have joined the school. My son is only in 1st grade but I can see him attending this school through his 8th grade year.
This is a very good school. I Have 3 children that have attended since k4 I am very pleased with this school.
Concordia is a great school because the teachers keep the parents informed re: the childs school work.
As a parent, I love Concordia University School for my child, The school has structure, good quality staff and most important the class and homework has substance. I only wish the school was year around.
This year has brought along quite a few changes at CUS. But I think the changes have been for the better. The principal stepped down which I feel was Best for the school. They've brought in a couple of staff members from one of the Top performing private schools in Milwaukee. Homework comes home nightly. So I am able to see what my children are learning. The curriculum is actually challenging the students'...Ex. Building Critical Thinking, Problem Solving skills and basic skills. When I've had to speak with a teacher about schoolwork. They were easily reached by phone or email and responded promptly. Keep up the good work! I think the school is going in a great direction.
My child's first year at this school was actually great. His 4TH grade teacher Mrs S not only helped him stay on track but she pushed him to do work at another level. I thinks shes a excellent teacher. This school doesn't give much homework, but where she saw my son needed improvement she sent packets home to help him. Also knowing that some parents haven't been in school in a while, she sent home packets for the parents to understand the work to. With teacher, parent, and child working together anything is possible. Hope next years goes well.
I agree with the parent who stated it's hard to tell what the children know or are learning in class. The middle school does not have textbooks. Students don't get homework on a regular basis. One middle school teacher is very unprofessional in conduct and dress. Issues and concerns are not addressed by the principal because she is friends with this particular staff member. It is clear to all who is actually running the school (not the principal) Parents have no voice when it comes to concerns.
School lacks leadership. It needs diversity training.Principal referred to children as acting, 'from the hood.'
I think that this school has great potential. Its very disciplinary so the good kids seem to suffer with the bad. The curriculum is good but the children dont get homework and its hard to tell what they know or are learning in class. The staff is friendly and very welcoming.
My son is excelling profeciently at this institute. I love the curriculom.
