ALBA is the BEST! The family-like environment makes it a welcoming place to visit and learn. Students are taught in BOTH English and Spanish daily, creating true bilinguals. Parents are very involved and the staff is AMAZING! There are many inviting school events throughout the year where families, students, staff and the community come to together for a good time. I HIGHLY recommend that families visit the school to see if it is a good fit for them! It is for my family!
ALBA is a great bilingual school that focuses on student-centered learning. My children have been attending ALBA for a few years and I am very pleased with the quality education that they receive. The teachers really care about getting to know the students and the families.
ALBA is a very unique school, combining fine arts, with culture and language! ALBA is one of very few schools who because of budget cuts still have Art, Gym and a Cafeteria with lunch staff that prepare lunches daily. ALBA provides a culturally rich environment while still advancing academically and even performing higher than most schools in the district. Parents choosing to enroll their students at ALBA should know that in order for their children to achieve higher learning succes, they must partner with teachers and be team players in their child's success.
I love this school!! My children have been attending ALBA since K4. The students are very respectful (which explains why PBIS recognized them as an exemplar school) and parents are very involved in many ways. They have after school sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Students have the opportunity to participate in programs with the Milwaukee Ballet, ACE, and the Milwaukee Art Museum. They challenge the students in Math and motivate the kids to read with programs such as Accelerated Reader. They always find ways to challenge the students and that's one of things I love most about this school!! I highly recommend this school to everyone!!
ALBA is a dream of parents. There are so many ways to be involved in school. They have soccer--futbol, piano lessons, arts day, and monthly parent meetings. The teachers are very friendly. My child loves going to school, especially on Arts days.
I took my son out of ALBA because his teacher wasn't patient with him. I didn't like the way that the school is in the same building as a high school and the high school kids can walk by their classrooms. I would not recommend this school to anyone.
