Parklawn Christian Leadership Academy has gone through changes in staff and leadership over the years. This is my second year as principal and I would have to say that my primary focus has been on getting a better understanding of where our students are academically. In the 2009/2010 school year, we implemented an internal assessment called Measure of Academic Progress, MAP, where students test at the beginning, middle and end of school year. The results from these assessments allow our teachers to differentiate their classroom instruction to meet the needs of every child. All of our teaching staff holds at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, which is another positive step toward providing the best quality education that we can offer to our students.

This school is horrible. They do just the minimum to get by! Im surprised they are open. My twins left here after one year and didnt learn the basics they should have at k5.

I am the parent of a current PCLA student, and am very dissatisfied with the treatment of my child. I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in an educational institution. My child has suffered immensely educationally, emotionally and spiritually. My child has issues with being bullied, they were never addressed. My childs instructor has been rude, very uncaring and greatly disrespectful to myself as well as my daughter. This issue has yet to be addressed to my satisfaction. What kind of teacher in a private CHRISTIAN school does not acknowledge a child when they enter the classroom? Especially a small child. In addition to these issues there seems to be a lack of leadership, as well as repercussions for inappropriate behavior. I am overall dissatisfied with my experiences at this school. Its a sad day when the secular public schools trump the CHRISTIAN schools in love, compassion and respect! Truly dissapointed!

PCLA is an excellent CHRISTian private school. I am extremly satisfied with the curriculum and instruction provided by the staff here at PCLA. My daughters are excelling well, especially spiritually due in part to our home values and PCLA staff members giving them consistant educational fostering. It is always upon the parents discretion when it comes to the education and development of our children in care. PCLA is not perfect, but exemplifies a well-done-job with our children. My experience with PCLA is that the staff shows caring and dedication to provide consistency in structure and promoting academic growth. The staff is qualified per DPI requirements and they go over and beyond the requirements to promote learning and some staff have been nominated for awards due to this fact. With the prevalence of disfunctional family structures today, many academic institutions face numerous challeges educating our children. PCLA, through prayer, caring and dedication continues to invest all resources available to instruct our children academically as well as spiritually. thx PCLA

My child went to Parklawn Christian Leadership Academy for 4 years. She didn't learn much. It was and still is very unorganized. When I finnally switched her to another school, she didn't do well because Parklwan wasn't challenging my daughter well enough for greater success!

My child did not do well at the school at all he went to that school for 2 years. within the 2 years we went through four principals that should tellyou about the school. they did not have qualified teachers my son fell behind 2 grade levels. He now at a Christian school and he is caught up. They got reported and they had to clean up their mess. They allow the kids to bully each other. Thank God that my child is out of that school

My first hand experience with this school was okay. This is my child's first year attending Parklawn. I do not plan on my child returning in fall of 2007. The school had 2 principals within 1 year. Now the school is being ran by a church official. They have funds for a new church but I would like to know why aren't they building a playground for our children. It was more organized at the beginning of the year. There was door monitor to make sure children entered the classrooms safely. Some of the staff are too relaxed. I would like to see more class/homework . Its not just a pay check. Kids learn what they see.
