I love our school for many reasons. Even though our school is in danger of shutting down you would never know it in the attitudes of the teachers and students. There is a true caring about the students with our teachers, it's not just a job to them. They give of themselves after school and if needd evenon a week-end. To win this would help our school stay open so our children can continue to have special teachers like those at our school
i only rate this 5 because of mrs. elenbecker. with out her the school would have nothing she is one of the best teachers ever. if you are looking into the arts, she is the one to get you into ANYTHING. she puts all her heart (litteraly) into her job. and really cares about people and wants eveyone to have the best because we are the best. she says. if mrs. Eleft i would too
It is apparent in the level of writing skill (or lack thereof) which of the prior posts are relevant. Montello is a relatively empoverished, small, rural community with limited resources and in that context I believe this school does a very good job. There has been a transition at the District Administrator level as well as the Principal and both gentlemen have been quite well received by the community and their staff. Parental involvement in Montello Schools is a shortcoming. The local culture here is not one of embracing your child's school so much as defending your child when the school tries to 'do something' to them. Children will succeed in Montello if they are cooperative and willing to try, if they have troubles with conformity and lack a respect for authority or are discouraged by parents they will have much less of a chance to succeed.
I'm offering this as one students perspective on Montello High School. A previous poster suggested this as a school where only the smart will thrive. I was doing so bad in that school I was forced between dropping out or graduating a year and a half late. I choose to drop out and get my HSED, where I graduated head of the class, and now I'm in a state college for IT. Montello High School failed me and the majority of my friends; who, dispite failing out of their classes at Montello High also went on to recieve higher education and enter managment level positions in various companies. Mrs. Ellenbecker and the late Mr. Day were shining examples of what teachers can and should be. There may be some others in the school that fall prone to stereotyping and generally fail to try with some students.
I feel if your child has needs the school does not do all they can do for them. They say they do. They even say the kids arent applying themself. But it is them that have fallen short. There has been 2 exceptional teachers there that have cared. Mr. Sauld and Mrs.Stelter. Very awesome. If your child is smart they do well in Montello. If they have any need they fall way short. And its to bad.
Mrs. Ellenbecker is the best art teacher in the world, She puts all her effort into art. She is always trying to help people. Everybody loves her. Ms. Massz is also a great teacher. I love the way she teaches. She is so smart. She makes everythink make sense.
I think the teachers at Montello want the students to excel in whatever their future career might be. The students are alright. I tink their parents should be more involved in the childs everyday life. The students dont really care what type of grades they get but the teachers push them so they will. They make school fun. Our new principle i htink has made an improvement i our school. He is very nice.
it was the best time of my life and i would love to say that Ms. Wood, Mrs. Ellenbecker, and Mrs. Weber are the best teachers.
