I wonder how old the previous posts are. Both my kids go to Orchard Lane. This school is WONDERFUL! It is one of the 2 smaller schools left in the New Berlin district. They have some of the best test results. Because it is a smaller school, staff/admin know each child. There is lot's of parent involement. It's a wonderful community! The teachers are some of the best I've seen and the principal is wonderful and has made some great changes in the school. I cannot say enough good things about this school.

This is one of the best schools in the district. Because it is smaller than most of the others, there is a real sense of community. Everyone seems to know each other. Lot's of opportunites for the children. The staff is a very wonderful caring bunch. I love what the principal has done - made some great changes. The leadership at this school is tops. My kids absolutely love their school. I'll be sad when they move on the MS/HS!

Bazaaaar...way tooo much homework for my K5. Silly, nit-picky parents with way to much time on their hands...it's all about making the 'standard test scores' after 8 hours he is zapped!! No diversity, though typical considering school...sadly, who was once most likely a wonderful teacher has 'morphed' into a robotic clone...let our kids dig in the dirt and discover life then at 6yrs. old spending an hour doing homework...missing his 'free choice-center-time...due to not finishing coloring in his house with Bricks....sad...sad...sad!!!

My son is in grade 1 and I am very happy to see his all round development in OL. Me and my husband are very contended with the way he is being taught in this school.

OL is just terrible! Our daughter is in 5th & has been at OL since K. ONLY 1 teacher seemed to care more than about his/her paycheck! The school could give 2 hoots about the kids and they'll try and take care of problems without notifying the parents until conference time! Instead of trying to help a child in a specific area or nip an issue in the bud they'll wait a few months and then say, 'Oh by the way...'! No one ever calls you back even after messages left unless you threaten to 'talk to the principal' then they'll call you back. The school is VERY irresponsible about giving notice regarding an event. They'll send home a flyer (& most times they don't & expect you to find out about it online!) &then want money/permission slip within a couple days at most! Don't send your kids to OL!
