RMS is awesome. I can say this because we've moved and I see the difference in maturity, emotional and educational intelligence in my daughter compared to students in her current school (which is a 9 out of 10 on greatschools.org). In 5th grade at our new school my daughter is being taught things she learned in her 1st-3rd year at RMS. A Montessori education helps youth think through challenges verses memorizing answers. In my job I worked with students from all over Racine and when I would ask a RMS student a question their answer was processed in a completely different way, and therefore was often a much richer answer, beyond what was "the right" answer, more to what is the best answer of a multitude of options. Montessori students see the world as a series of opportunities, not a right and wrong, black and white, either or world. The staff is thoughtful, compassionate, creative, determined, and loving. It is a private school that people go to not because it is the right thing to do in certain social circles, but because it is the right thing to do for their family. I encourage you to ask for a tour if you are considering any schools in Racine and see if it is right for you.

Excellent school, our daughter has been through pre-k (primary) and has just started first grade. She really likes it and is always excited to go. We are very pleased with the teachers (compassionate and very good instructors), after school child care, and Rita, the principle. We have also been sending her to their summer camp which she really enjoys and is educational. I recommend reading up on the Montessori method of teaching or give RMS a call if you are interested. Its a different culture/approach to teaching and I believe superior to standard education. They emphasize peace, respect and decision making skills along with learning. Every kid I've talked to at RMS is nice and respectful which says a lot. RMS is a great school. The only thing I wish they would do is replace French class with Spanish, and perhaps throw mandarin into the mix.

Amazing!! I am so thankful that we were open to the idea of a Montessori education! Our children are learning to love learning!

We have been sending our children to RMS for 8+ years now. Besides the wonderful foundation in education the Montessori method provides children that they will carry with them throughout their entire life, RMS provides a safe, caring, and loving environment where children are always encouraged yet never pressured. Through this environment of encouragement the children develop a strong personal sense of personal responsibility and self awareness, a deep passion for learning, and a deeper and more profound understanding of how and why in subjects such as Math and Science. RMS children are academically heads and shoulders above their peer group who attend both the public schools and other private schools in the area. RMS children are also easy to spot as they are compassionate, polite, and responsible, 3 character traits that are instilled in the children as young as 3 years old.

I am very impressed with the teachers and education offered by RMS. My daughter is already learning a foreign language at age 3 and has been taught of her continents. They also have a music teacher that comes in every week and my daughter loves this. The program is very well rounded and worth every penny. Rita, the principal stands outside the school to greet the children every morning with a smile. This was the best choice I could have ever made for my childs education.

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
