Smaller isn't always better. Special education department is inconsistent and lacking. Most teachers do not do anything extraordinary or unique in fact some of the methods used are very old school...ex. popcorn reading. Teaching methods from teacher to teacher are inconsistent..for example all have smart boards but some teachers refuse to use them. New Principal is difficult to get in touch with and seldom returns calls. He seems to be concerned with making changes that affect the image of the school and increasing his portfolio rather than the best interests of the students and focusing on student achievement as a whole.

Raymond School still has decent class sizes. My children receive a wonderful, hands on, and relevant education. I love how the teachers invite us in to help with special projects and special days. The teachers communicate with parents frequently and keep us informed about what the kids are learning. I really feel that Raymond is doing an outstanding job! My children are in the elementary grades and one in the middle school school grade. I am very happy with Raymond school and the teachers. I can't rate the principal very high, as I don't hear much about him. He will often send home lengthy notes. I think he tries to keep parents informed with changes about the new mandatory Common Core standards and curriculum, but that's about it. PS The children have water at school. PSS. I think there may be some confusion about the trailers that one post mentioned. You may want to contact the school about the cost and reason for the trailers.

Just another common core school. Nothing special here folks. Education is subpar. One thing I really don't get is why they need a principal and an administrator for a school of this size. Also, they stuck the taxpayers with a million dollars worth of tacky trailers so that they could cram more out of district kids into what was once the library. Last I heard from a board member there were over 100 out of district kids...oh, and the water at this school is undrinkable. It's sad because it used to be a really decent school.

The teachers, the new principal and staff care about the students and do a great job. They are open to meeting w/ family members. They really do their job above and beyond and appear to enjoy it.

Our children have attending this school for a number of years. An alarming trend has been developing in the last few years, however. Some parents have reported an obsessive amount of homework, which has caused great anxieties for the households.

K-4 is exceptional. 5-8 is quite different. Music, Art and Band are very good. Recent changes in the upper grades have diminished quality of school. School needs to be enlarged (2 trailers behind school) but community won't do it.

My child has only been in the Raynond school for 1 year (kindergarden). Not only am I impressed with the teacher, but the involvment from the community exceeds expectations. Parental involvment in Raymond has been encouraged and welcomed. The PTO at this school is top-notch. The school building could use impovement, but the heart of the school is pumping loud and proud. Go Panthers! -B. Knuth

I was a student in Raymond from 3rd grade till I graduated 7th grade. The staff and everything there was incredible/exceptional/etc. Raymond definitely has an excellent educational program. I learned that when i moved to a seemingly top-notch private school down in Fla. I couldnt belive the difference in education. I was ahead of all the students in most of my classes. Raymond provides a great staff that really go beyond what normal teachers do for their kids. You'd think a private school would be state-of-the-art almost. But I have to say, Raymond tops out at the best. When i graduate vet school and whatnot and get married and start a family(maybe), I would definitely consider Raymond School above all. I can't believe all I've learned there.

I have a 4th grader there, when my child started at the school last year she had a reading problems but due to their in school special courses she has not only achieve she excels in her reading. Raymond is a small school but they have not skimped on what is best for the children. And even though this day and age is so pc they have maintained safety and discipline for each child.
