Compared to many schools in the country, this is actually a pretty decent district and school- it might be more of a 3 than a 4 in rating though. This is a small community and has a very 'involved' feel in terms of staff to student engagement. At times that may yield less positive results because the entire community is 'highly aware' of all the 'happenings' of others. However, when it comes to actually KNOWING what is going on with your child and being able to effectively be involved and advocate, as well as open up many opportunities, this is a great start for a student. Students can explore many extra-curricular activities and a events in the community- lots of connection to the community. However, it can also mean that students lose a sense of prioritizing- Good school though.

Moved from St. Paul, MN to St. Croix Falls, WI about 2 years ago. What a refreshing change. My child's grades have changed from a D average to a B average. Small town living is a treat compared to the city.

This school tries to offer everything and winds up having nothingspecial to offer. Outstanding facilities that can be better found in neighboring schools. The building was built during the energy crunch and has no windows to the outside. It is buried underground and has a feeling of a bomb shelter. The solar panels that were supposed to heat water were never installed correctly and they are completely useless. During the winter months staff and studnets suffer from SAD. The high school and middle school are attached. It is not approptiate for these two age groups to intermix as freely as they do. This was a cheapo solution to a problem and the district has a history of cheapo solutions such as the under sized new music addition. Teachers are the same as any other school but better facilities can be had in many near by schools. I would open enroll.
