My daughter attends Deer Creek, in the open enrollment program. The principle and teachers are wonderful. (especially the science teacher) I am fortunate to have a daughter who likes school and gets excellant grades... I credit some of that to her teachers, who, make learning fun. The principal has made positive updates to the building.... If I were to comment on improvement, it would be to have to do with the water issues with the basement and adding central air. (they might have done it already?) I would also like to mention that I was dissappointed when they had let go of a teacher who's licence was not updated. When this information was aquired, they had the teacher instantly tell the children (while crying) and made him leave immediately. Most children (including mine) left school that day crying also. Any negative comments mentioned is nothing compaired to the positive opinion I have about Deer Creek and it's wonderful staff. I would recommend Deer Creek to parents who is looking for a great school to send their children!

I think that this school has improvedmy 13 year olds education greatly and I will continue to send my son here for 8th grade. and my son dose seem to be getting the challenges he needs. Also the teachers there seem to be great.

The schools seem ok, but rather than trying to solve small disputes between kids they call the police. Who are Zero Tolerance so if you have a troubled kid keep them away from these schools . Thank god I got my youngest out of there this year!

I used to go here about two years ago, in my personal experience it was an okay school. The main issue I had at DC was that I wasn't getting any challenging classes at all. I never had homework and getting an A+ was just too easy. DC is located in a nice area, with the forest in the back. In terms of recess space it was larger which I enjoyed. The only problem I ever had here was when they removed some equipment and did not put anything in its place. All and all this wasn't a bad school, but some things could have been better during my time there.

I think what they are trying to do for next year is wrong. Your kids won't be able to walk to school. They are splittling the grade school up so 1 school is going to be for K4-5 and the other 5-8 and we said no but the school said they are going to do it anyway. I making a lot of people unhappy. I will have 2 kids, 1 going to each school and there is not alot of parking at each school if I could I would sent my kids somewhere else.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Wisconsin used the Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS), which includes the WKCE and WAA, to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and reading, and in grades 4, 8 and 10 in language arts, science and social studies. The WSAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wisconsin. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. In private schools, only voucher program participants are tested.

If there are fewer than 5 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group. Subgroup scores for each school are only reported for students who were enrolled as of the fall enrollment count. The All students score includes results for all students who took the test, regardless of when they first enrolled in the school.
