When I drop my kids off at Providence Catholic School, I drive away with a smile, and no worries. Both of my girls are thrilled to be at school and I am so happy that I found Providence. I live a 1/2 hour from the school and could send my girls to several schools that we could be at in minutes. We, as a family, chose Providence for it's excellence in academics, parental involvement, teachers who truly love and care about our children, and for the pleasure of being a member of a very special catholic school family. Thank you Providence!!
Providence is a wonderful school. Each day we bring our daughter to school we are greeted by the smiling faces and hellos of all of the children, teachers and their parents. To walk into a school and see the joy on all of the children's faces, because they are happy to be at school, is so heartwarming. The children are always very kind and are always helping and encouraging each other along with the guidance of their dedicated and caring teachers. The aftercare program and preschool offered are also very good. Our daughter attended preschool, the summer programs and has been in the after school program a few days a week for several years (she is now in 2nd grade). She not only has fun there playing with her friends but the teachers also spend time to assist her with homework. This is so helpful and gives us extra time together after we get home from our busy days at school and work. There is still homework to do but a little extra time for us to play a family game, watch a movie or talk after dinner is wonderful. When our son is old enough we plan to send him to Providence too.
Our children enjoy going to school each day. This school has a dedicated and compassionate teaching staff. They make the learning experience a key ingredient to a childs success. We could not be more pleased with this school. Providence parent

My son says he LOVES going to school! What this does for a parent's heart! :-)) My son is in 2nd grade and we have had such great experiences at Providence. His teacher is truly liked by the kids, offers various and exciting methods of teaching/learning for the children, and wonderful guidance to the parents with helpful tips for students at home (reading, flashcards, etc...). Truly a great moral and Christian atmosphere with our super, new principal and our wonderful new priest. BTW: My son now excels beyond his grade level in reading and math, and loves his gym, music and computer classes! Like I said, it does a parent's heart good! :-) Praise God!
Providence Catholic School is a great school with strong leadership both within the school and within the parishes. I noticed that the parent comment posted February 9, 2009, was at the point were a decision was made that the school did not have the leadership it needed and, therefore, hired new leadership. This new leadership has been working strong to take Providence Catholic School to new heights. At a time when the public is struggling monetarily, there are those who strongly support Providence Catholic School and catholic faith-based education. Many people cheer on this school and work hard to promote its success.
We were disappointed in the lack of leadership shown in the school. There have been three principals in the last year alone. The academics in some areas were less than in public schools. Multiplication facts did not begin in 2nd grade. Cursive writing was not given much attention at all and students not expected to use it. We really expected more from a private school with small class numbers. Catholic values while taught were not always put into practice. Not a place to send children who need to be challenged or those that have any learning difficulties.
Lack of leadership from the parish has resulted in unorganization, disarray and unrest in the community. No one knows what is next, leading to the inability to improve.
I am incredibly happy with the benefits my children have reaped being a part of this school. They receive a lot of one on one attention that has really paid off especially for my high school student who graduated from Providence. He is an honor roll student. Parental involvement is always encouraged and the communication between home and school is excellent. Potential problems are dealt with before they have a chance to develop. The students seem to excel when it comes to the state testing because the curriculum allows for so much individualized attention.
Providence provides an exceptional environment for learning, and not just the three R's. Here you've got great parental involvenment, small class sizes and a faith-based education that is one in a million. You should see just what a small school with limited resources can achieve!!
