The program that they have for new freshman students is exceptional! My child's teachers are excellent. The principal and counselors are superb! Teachers are excited about teaching, creative in the ways they teach, and available if their students have questions or need extra help! I am 100% completely satisfied with the program set-up for freshmen students!!!!

VAHS is a very good school considering its relatively small size and limited budget. The teachers, on the whole, are knowledgeable, fun, creative and involved. Elective classes in particular are extremely varied and hold pretty high standards (for the most part). From personal experience I can say that the music dept is excellent, offering more classes and extracurricular activities than any other dept in the school (English has more classes, but they cheat because English encompasses all theater classes as well as reading and writing). VAHS also has an extensive ESL program (English as a Second Language). All athletic teams are pretty demanding, but some are more, shall we say, successful than others.

The quality of this school is great. It has everything that you would need to get through high school with good grades. I am a former student and I think that it is great. It has its problems, but they are ones that the school can not control. There are very many cultures and it is very diverse. I think that is one of its best qualities. But the extra curricular activities are abundant, and the electives are helpful. and if you have a problem the teachers will help you with it right away. It is a very great school and I would reccomend it to everybody.
