Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School is a small school with wonderful caring teachers and students and parents love it! It is very rich in the arts and lots of hands on learning. We also have organic local foods hot lunch.

Pleasant Ridge offers more depth, experience and vitality than can be imagined. If you want your child to be part of the mainstream robotrons, then go to public school. PRWS has many faults and areas to grow, however, it gives unceasingly to the children. The richness of subject matter and experience is excellent compared to public school. One can augment Pleasant Ridge with book learning, but to add to public school would be a full time job. It is not for everyone, for sure, but if you think the world is going to get better with students educated with m & m's for math, and watching principal jump off a diving board, or sleep on a roof, or be covered with sundae toppings, you are a perfect fit for the public school factory...and if you don't like the OV take over, do something about it.

I was involved with Pleasant Ridge Waldorf for over 10 years and watched as it was taken over by elitist executives from Organic Valley (local organic farmer cooperative). The teachers were not paid well enough for the amount of work they had to do and the amount of tuition that was squeezed out of parents . SELL RAFFLE TICKETS OR YOU PAY FOR THEM OUT OF POCKET? I think not. I pulled my kids (all 3) out and was astonished at how little vital information they had learned. We home-schooled, then tried public school, and they love it. My kids are struggling to catch up and I feel like a bozo for letting them down, while shelling out over 50K over the past 10 years on an education & lifestyle appropriate for very young children. Mellow, sweet, and non-invasive.
