love this school. love the community. love the other parents. love our choice to attend here. Do your kids a favor ... give St Bernard a look.
St. Bernard Parish School is a gem. Our otherwise average young son is developing into a leader in academics, outreach, athletics, and technology at this fine school. We feel privileged to be able to share our energy with the caring faculty and staff at St. Bernard. As a public educator for over 15 years, I know that the smaller class sizes are a plus for our children. We have two attending and a third who will work her way up. All decisions are made with student achievement in mind. Communication home is impeccable. Extra-curriculars such as Forensics have been award-winning. People know one another, and care about one other at St. Bernard. We have outstanding parishioners who support the school in word and deed. Our location is supreme. Dual-profession families enjoy the before, during, and after-school care program. We are convinced we are laying a strong foundation in Catholicism. TUITIONISAFFORDABLE!
This is a lovely school. The teachers are wonderful, the students are well mannered, the families instantly welcoming. Starting in 4K, phys ed, music and Spanish are offered. We found the size, which is a positive for some, to be a negative for our family. With less than 100 children, we questioned the competitiveness. All teachers need to pull double duty handling their grade plus another class such as gym, music or computer. The Principal teaches upper level classes. They do not have a lunch program. I want to be involved in every aspect of my children's education, however we are a double career household. Everyone at this school is spread so thin that it was more than our family could handle to be involved as much as was needed. They were kind to us, and although they run a lean budget, it was not worth the cost of tuition.
The teachers are outstanding! They communicate very frequently with parents and always have the best interest of the student in mind. They have a strong foundation in the teaching of reading, writing and math with an emphasis on Technology. There are SMARTBoards (interactive whiteboards) in every classroom, along with their state-of-the-art computer lab. Spanish instruction is now offered for K4 - 8th grades. The families are wonderful and work together with the faculty for the best interest of the students.
St. Bernard is a wonderful school, there is so many things we love about it. Small class sizes, one on one attention. Challenging curriculum, forensics, science fair, bell choir, voice choir, spanish k5-8th church involvement. And much, much more. The parents are very friendly and welcoming. Strong parental involment. Room parents, play ground duty, home and school. I feel really involved with my childs education. The communication between home and school is A #1. I highly recommend this school.
Small classes wounderful teachers over 80 years of experience
St Bernard's is a wonderful school! The faculty, students and parents are very warm and welcoming! There are many opportunities to get involved. The teachers are very kind and caring. We have enjoyed our experience with St Bernard!
I dont like this school at all. I am very sorry but this school is vary clicky and the parents are rude.
It is the place to go for good dicipline, awesome teachers, many extra curriculars, and funny and hilarious students. Because our school is small, all the grades get along great. I've gone to this school since kindergarten. Our school just built a new gym about two years ago and it looks fabulous! Some extra curriculars we can participate in include-volleyball, basketball, softball, piano/band, Promising Piccasos, Swing Choir, Church Choir, bell choir, forensics, and camps during the summer. I love my teachers! Some are strict, but most are fun and loving. We're also a great high school prep.
