Teachers meet the minimum requirements.Class teachers are willing to make sure no child is left behind, but no child is allowed to get ahead. Below average gifted/talented program. Students are pulled from classes once every fours days for reading, math enrichment. (There is a handicapped children, or 'special education,' program at the school.) Emphasis on social behaviors, not core subjects. Teachers use computers from K-5.Homework is once a week, no books sent home. This school will be a 'charter' school in 2011, mixing grade levels- my opinion is this will be a burden on teachers differentiating instruction. Good PTO, these are parents who want to improve school and family relationships. At least half of students in each class have English as a second language. Teachers spend more time with these children. Principal is friendly, works to get to know each student and family. Safety: a sign in log, parents are asked not to park in front of school and stay by front/back doors after school to pick up children. I've seen plenty of people ignore this safety measure. There are scheduled fire/lock-down/tornado drills.

Outstanding Visual arts, Music and Physical Education programs. The school received the Wisconsin Model School Award for integrating the arts with classrooom academics. Small, friendly school campus with excellent class size of 20 studnets or less in most primary grades and no more than 25 students in the intermediate grades.
