Burns High School is a good environment for students. The staff knows all the kids by name. The Burns community is like a family and they are very supportive of there school. Great sports programs and extra cricular activitys. Students that are involved in sports at Burns are favored and most Arts/Academic clubs and events are not reconigized. Some staff is there to coach while others are very good deicated teachers.

This was my kids' first public school experience, and not even two years into it, I pulled them back into homeschooling. There was a 'boys will be boys' excuse for ostracizing and abusing my son by the faculty and no real sense of discipline. 'Lunch club' is really detention - so call it that. And while a few of the teachers are excellent, they are undermined by a lack of funding and a requirement to teach the standardized tests. I feel like I gave it a reasonable chance to work, even after numerous first-year issues, but I couldn't accept continued problems, even after addressing those issues directly. The staff is wonderful, and I'd even say half the teachers are excellent, but they are working uphill against a misconception of what it takes to teach a child as opposed to a subject.
