I'm a senior at Cody High School. This school system has been the best. I've checked out other schools in Wyoming and none of them offer the freedoms and conveniences that Cody HIgh School does. This is a GREAT school.

I'm a student at CHS, and I think that this school is the best in Wyoming. The teachers are competent and willing to help, and we have free personal laptops that we check out and take home during the school year.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Wyoming administered the Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) in reading, writing and math to students in grades 3 through 8 and 11, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 11. PAWS tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wyoming. The goal is for all students score at or above the proficient level.

  • We have a parent advisory committee that meets quarterly or more often as needed. parents help with hosting a semi-annual career fair. parents also help when the school hosts large statewide culminating events. parents assist with the opening of school, provide meals for staff on teacher conference days, and assist with other school events as needed.
More from this school
  • Cody High School initiated the LINK Crew program to help freshmen transition to high school and eliminate bullying. This program is very successful. With the 2008 -2009 school year, 1-1 laptop computer program was initiated in grades 9-11. With the 2009 - 2010 school year, every student will have a laptop. 1-1 inservice has been provided to staff. In the Fall of 2008, a Project Based Technology program focused on pre - engineering program was initiated will be further developed. Annually, a group of our students travels to Andros Island to study marine biology. The staff at CHS is committed to every student, every chance, every day. With our form of Block Schedule, students who demonstrate the ability and initiative are able to accelerate through the curriculum and then enroll in online courses, concurrent enrollment courses, or graduate early and enter post-secondary education.
