We were happy to get our child out of this school. The school administration on down places athletics over academics in the misguided hope that the students can land an athletic scholarship. The sad truth is that in today's world a student getting an athletic scholarship is required to maintain a decent GPA, which many of these students are not prepared to do. Past valedictorians from this H.S. were put in 'dummy' math and english when they went on to college. Colleges within 400 miles know to do this based on the poor teaching that takes place in this H.S. The attitude is so ingrained into the mindset of this community, that I doubt it can be fixed without a literal act from the Almighty. Don't send your kids to this school. They would be better off home-schooled or sent to a boarding school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Wyoming administered the Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) in reading, writing and math to students in grades 3 through 8 and 11, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 11. PAWS tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wyoming. The goal is for all students score at or above the proficient level.
