We are planning to move to Texas over the summer from New Orleans, LA and are not sure of what area as of yet. I am looking for advice, what are the best places for elementary schools, safety and business?

Hi mindylepine, and welcome to the GreatSchools Parent Community.

You might find this article helpful: http://www.greatschools.org/find-a-school/moving/3986-choosing-a-school-from-a-distance.gs It has great suggestions on where to look, who to ask, and most importantly, which questions to ask.

Good luck, and let us know what happens.

We live in Round Rock Texas, which is a suburb of Austin. My son goes to an IB World Elementary School and we love it. The schools in Round Rock, Cedar Park & Georgetown are great ! Round Rock was voted one of the safest places to live, its a really great area to live in.
I also been hearing a lot of good things about Buda and Kyle, which are located South of Austin.
Unfortunately we will have to move away this summer but we will be back to grow old here. ...we've lived here for the past 4 years.
Good Luck !
