While we've heard good things about the middle school, the elementary program is sorely lacking. My child's class was worse than a mediocre daycare. Within only a few months, my child's class size dropped from 20 to 12 students. Blame was placed on the children, despite private acknowledgment of the teacher's failures. The academics were very poor and not at all challenging, and we were also concerned by harsh language and punishments by the teacher. The school would speak about lack of parental involvement, but when we tried to get involved, it was clear that there was no actual interest in listening to parents. Overall, the school seemed to have very little understanding of young children or what is developmentally appropriate for them. It was also very disappointing that the school did not seem to take Catholic teaching seriously.

I can't say enough about The Cushman School. It is the most nuturing and warm environment for students to learn and grow. The unparalled attention to each student results great academics, but also great people who are ready to thrive in today's world. My child attended K -12 and I would do it all over again!

The staff at this school is great. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly faces ready to help. They work very hard to keep the school running. The principal is amazing. She cares about all kids not just a few. She is an amazing addition to the school. I personally have experience with special education. They are a wonderful bunch to work with. The teachers are all kind and ready to teach all the kids each day. This school also plans fun activities throughout the year. This is definitely the school you want your kids at!!!!

This school has been amazing for my autistic children. The teachers are understanding and willing to make accommodations when needed. The principal, who has a background in special education, was supportive and super helpful when my children were struggling with day to day transitions. There is a strong camaraderie among the staff. My kids have spent most of their elementary at this school, and even their previous teachers still talk to them and cheer them on. I'm grateful that this is our home school.

The entire staff is very welcoming and supportive. My children love going to school there after they had been to public schools. Public schools can not measure up to this excellent school in anyway. They provide excellent teachings and curriculums!

I was at this school two years ago. Rumors at this school spread incredibly fast; with their phones, other students post mean pictures on their Snapchat stories. There are always a few students who keep doing bad stuff; instead of suspending them twenty times per year, the principal should expel them. Suspending a student more than once for five days isn't going to do anything because they'll keep repeating the same mistake, thinking they can get away with it. Instead of banning cell phones throughout school days, just ban them for the people who misuse them.

I was shocked by the bad reviews I read about this school so I feel compelled to provide my positive review. My daughter entered Purple Sage two years ago. I think Principal Nelson and her team are excellent. I know of two families of kids with special needs who specifically come to this school because they do such a good job meeting their children's needs. The PTA is involved and organized too. It puts on a fabulous event called The Celebration of Cultures. I honestly thought the event would just pay lip service to diversity and be a kind of a fake celebration. I was pleasantly shocked at how diverse our community and student population is, and how engaged the parents are. 50+ families/cultures cooked meals to share & organized student performances. It truly is a high-achieving school with a diverse group of kids. That's not easy to find. We are thrilled to send our kids here. My son will enter Purple Sage in the Fall 2024. As long as Principal Nelson remains at Purple Sage I feel confident they are meeting the needs of all students as much as is humanly possible. Texas is ranked 29 out of 50 in K12 education according to US News and World Report in May 2024; it's highly unimpressive. However, I've been pleasantly surprised by the school and the community. Purple Sage is located in the city of Austin but belongs to Round Rock ISD. Students who attend Purple Sage will filter into Westwood High School, one of Texas' top 100 high schools. I feel confident my kids will be well educated and prepared for whatever career or higher education path they choose upon graduation. Kudos to Ms. Nelson and her staff! I'll gladly update this review as needed in the coming years if I have experiences that cause me to feel differently. At this time, I would encourage parents who are looking for schools to consider this as an excellent option.

On May 16th, My 10 year old daughter was assaulted by a boy who pushed her down to the ground 4 times and ripped her shirt. 3 of those times she was attempting to “run away” from him and he ripped her shirt when he tried to fling her around by her shirt. Forest Elementary then proceeded to put my daughter and this boy back into their classroom together for the rest of the day. Forest Elementary doesn’t protect your kids rather they put your child back into a room with their abuser.

As parents, we are not the most involved with the PTA or school activities as we would like due to work. However, we have found that we have very supportive teachers. Granted we are only Kinder/1st grade parents. Our teacher and the school itself have been beyond helpful. Our child had issues in certain areas of learning and completion of tasks. With the notes and helpful strategies, we helped our child become more confident and able to succeed in these areas. We have seen the comments on the principle and have no experience with that relationship, but we can speak on our teachers and support staff at this school and have to say that the effort and passion given by them have created one of the most beautiful and safest places for our children to go to school. I have no idea how they have this endless patience and boundless happiness to create such a bright place for the kids. They greet and talk to nearly all the kids every morning at the entrances and try to get to know the kids walking the halls. This alone should show how much effort this staff is putting into an engaging environment for our kids. There are a lot of school activities outside of normal school hours that help get parents and kids together to socialize. The safety protocols at the school are strict (thank god) and yet still polite/inviting. Finally, the playground and the upkeep of it are great. I do admit, as an 80's child, I am used to logs on the ground as my playground as a reference point.

Teachers and staff truly care about every student. Will give every kid the resources needed to succeed. Involved in the community and there is a ton of community support for the school.

Do NOT accept a lottery acceptance from this school. Only the teachers in this school really care for the students, the counselor even picks favorites, usually with the female students. The P.E. teacher only cares for participation and does not care if you physically cannot participate, or even for medical reasons. The teachers there is a lottery in itself, you could get an amazing teacher who really wants the kid to flourish, or one who doesn't care for your student whatsoever.

Older campus which minimizes the safety of its kids on a daily basis. No fencing and unlocked doors leading into the main corridor to children’s classrooms, which are also unlocked. An Older campus also means minimal classrooms, minimal resource centers and smaller spaces which inhibit access to all students to participate in morning breakfast and before/after school programs. We were on the waitlist for 2 years without space. Very unimpressed with the administration, leading into curriculum. Kindergarten is half a day which can be a nonstarter for most, contingent to additional childcare which the school cannot provide. Kindergarten comprises of 3 classrooms that run a seriously outdated program with more emphasis on parent homework than the students ability. I can’t stress the amount of weekly nonsense that came home in homework folders along with projects that my children could not do on their own. Not impressed. Pulling them out and rerouting.

Abundant Life Christian Academy is a Christ-centered, multicultural standard place of excellence here in South Florida. It's a place where children thrive under the presence of the Lord throughout everyday here at ALCA. I highly recommend this academy.

I haven't seen a lot of reviews on the disability and emotional support at Paxon, and that is probably because it is disappointing. Often, students with 504s do not have their needs accommodated without a fight. The education on disabilities and how to treat disabled classmates is nonexistent, and can be shown in the language used to describe students of all abilities (the r-slur is used fairly commonly and other slurs have yet to be addressed in any real way). Some counselors at this school refuse to listen to students' requests for services based on their IEPs and 504s. There have been multiple accounts of repeated reported bullying to students in minority groups with no or little punishment. These incidents include the use of slurs and harassment (in and outside of the school building) Many students feel unsafe and like they could be targeted for bullying. There have also been fights and other threats of violence. While the counselors and administrators do not seem to care about student health and safety, most teachers do. Many students feel more comfortable talking to teachers than counselors about issues they are facing, and typically teachers show more support in helping the students. The caring teachers at this school almost make up for the ignored bullying, but not quite. Also, the school building seems to currently be falling apart. There are bugs and even rodents all over this building, both in classrooms and the hallways. There is also a large water leakage problem, and many ceiling tiles are leaking and have to be taken out after storms. The Pottercup is one bonus of the school, or at least it would be if the students at the other school (Haverford Middle School) didn't always end up fighting a student.
