I think is a great idea, it will make it easier on me, my kids wouldn't have any issues of what to wear for the next day, It is very upsetting to kids at the beggining but they get used to it, if public schools decided to opt them then I will not mind it at all, plus it would make the kids follow more the dress code instead of wearing gang-like clothes. I know it will be expensive to buy them but it is worth it.42254
sbozarth23, Then request the schools have truly uniform uniforms. My daughter's school does and there are no differing brands or styles. They do offer a variety of types (skorts, versus skirts, different types/colors of polo shirts, etc)... but all the same manufacturer. Hence they are truly.... UNIFORM.42256
I agree in using uniforms, there is no differing brand or styles, they all look quiet the same, so no kid would't be saying, "Why can I get the same brand as my friend or the brand of somebody else?" you don't have to worry to buy more color clothes for school unless is for their personal use. I went to a private school and I remembered I disliked to use an uniform but I didn't have a choice, but I got used to it and later on it turned to be okey with me. 42257
At the private school I went to, nobody was allowed to wear a skirt really short, the skirt was to be a few inches from your knee or else it was not acceptable, so we have to follow the dress code strictly, that is why I personally preferred uniforms, kids will follow more the dress code.42258
If someone can't afford to buy an uniform, there are parents that donated them to their childs school, check if the school were your child attends may have some available for parents that can't afford one or let the school know what should be done, they might be able to help parents under this situation.42259
I actually like the uniforms and wish they would do it for the High School as well. I like them because there is not fashion school at school. He/She looks better in this then that. I like it because it is actually cheaper for our pockets then having to buy a years worth of street close, when a uniform 4 pairs of pants and 6 tops works just fine. Am I ok for thinking like this.?42260
Yes, I completely agree that also will be good to have uniforms for high school students as well, I agreed with mamaof2babies, dress code especially in high school students is need to be watch out for.42262
As far as uniforms go, I don't think its necessary. Of course there needs to be guidelines....like nothing obscene, violant or just obviously overworn(with holes and tears) should not be allowed. Unless the school wants to provide the uniforms then that might be ok but I know for me...who lives on a budget...we can't afford to have to buy uniforms for school then have to turn around and still buy another whole wardrobe for outside of school. Especially with the way the economy is today with the prices of things going up. Also there just needs to be another rule about young girls, preteen girls, etc... not wearing very revealing clothes to school trying to act older. In fact they shouldn't be allowed to wear them at all....maybe there would be less teen pregnacy, just my thoughts.42263
