Great Teacher Reviews... I don't care so much about test scores, as knowing that teacher spend quality time teaching every student. Then good test scores should fall into place.

I maybe relocating to Orlando. My son is in 1st grade and I love his school! So many parents volunteer and the staff is wonderful. I am looking for a school that is similar and also has classes for the gifted. Any suggestions? Thanks

LoriH is right on the mark. The more the school and the community are involved the better.
API and AYP, unfortunately, do not give true picture of what is going on at a school

The "right" school can be any school. The key is to be an involved parent. Volunteer in the classroom, serve on an accountability committee and build a good relationship with teachers, staff and administration.

Class size is key. More than 15 students per 1 adult is too high in my book. I also look at the school personnel's ability to integrate the curriculum.
