We plan to move to San Jose, CA by this year end. My kid is 5.5y by then and I think he should enroll in Elem schools. Considering English is not native tounge, I feel worry about if he can get involved with new environment. And what school may fit him mostly. Some friends recommended good public district but some ones don't think Elem is so important. Could you please give me some advice? Thanks.

Hi Lisanest,

We have an active community from San Jose, which is located here: http://www.greatschools.org/california/san-jose/community.gs?content=1972

They can offer advice on schools--and they comment on other questions about schools in the area.

You can also try the Find a School feature here: http://www.greatschools.org/find-schools/

You can narrow down the search by the school rating (10 is best) and read parent reviews.

All schools in San Jose will help him get acclimated to English. He's young, and will adapt quickly. Through additional support in the classroom and pull-out programs they will get him fluent quickly.

Good luck, and let us know how he's doing.
