Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well.

Do you know any high school/middle school teachers or people who work with organizations that have educational programs?

Are you a parent that has a child in middle or high school or do you have any friends with children in middle or high school?  If so, they should know about this exciting event!

On Friday, February 27, 2009 the Social Development Commission is having its First Annual Black Knowledge Bowl and students from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate!

Information about the event can be found on our website at:
www.cr-sdc.org. But here's a brief synopsis:

  • Teams of middle and high school level students will compete - tournament style on Black History facts.

  • First place winners will be awarded trophies and $1,000!

  • Second place winners will win trophies and $500!

  • Workshops related to the African American experience will be available during the event.

  • This is a great event to round off Black History Month 2009.

  • Lunch will be provided.

  • Fun will be had by all!

The event will be held at:
Milwaukee Youth Arts Center
325 W Walnut Street
Milwaukee, WI 53212

Those interested can contact Michele Nash directly at: mnash@cr-sdc.org or by calling: 414.906.2721 (o) 324.1720 (c).

Please forward the information to your friends, family and colleagues as soon as possible. The sooner teams register the sooner they can prepare for the First Annual Black Knowledge Bowl!
