When they are receptive. My daughter was a nightmare to train at 2 and my son was a dream at 3. I tried too hard to push my daughter...she wasn't ready.

Once they are able to specifically tell you things such as they are hungry, tired, or have to poop. Around 2 years old.

My daughter Malani was about fifteen months old when she started following us into the bathroom then shortly after she was going on her own and then moved right to big girl panties
