Our daughter attended Notre Dame de Sion High School and it has been a wonderful experience for both her and our family. We were impressed by the academic rigor, the small classroom size and personal attention that she received, and the wide variety of accessible clubs, sports, and activities, and service opportunities that she could participate in. Most importantly, we were impressed by the Catholic foundation that was woven through curriculum and culture, and the impressive dialogue the teachers engaged in with their students. Our daughter has gained so much confidence, maturity, respect and love for learning and diversity. We feel she is ready for college as a well-rounded young adult, who will be able to problem solve and embrace what the world sends her way. Thanks, Sion!

This is a warning to the school community and parents that the music teacher at St Theresa, Meredith Kane, is a bona fide bully. She has no sense of decency; community values and I would personally not trust my children to be taught by her. Other than that, this is a great school but they really shouldn't have this person on their staff. Meredith has defamed my small business publicly and mercilessly--posting blatant lies when we provided a fantastic this year to her daughter at The Vanguard School (a school for children with special needs). She admitted that she had no one to transport her child after school other than my service, and once the school year was up decided to spread lies. I will now recommend the school with an asterisk giving them the benefit of the doubt. However, if someone as evil as her is still at the school after their review, the school should be held accountable as well.

As a teacher of many years, this school has so many dedicated and loving teachers. They work very hard on curriculum and give engaging lessons. Yes we need more parental support. Yes there are improvements to be made, but as a whole these teachers are committed to providing a great education.

I was truly excited about this school at first. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that they tell you what you want to hear and do absolutely nothing about situations that can be detrimental to your child. They only care and cater to the parents who make large donations to the school. I am very disappointed because my child made really good friends and I had to pull him out. Do not be fooled. They are sheep's in wolf's clothing. The turn around of teachers is highly concerning. Teachers are dropping like flies. This new administration is a nightmare. Don't be fooled. Stay away.

An AMAZING school that is rooted in Christ's love and salvation for all students! High academic expectations and loving teachers are just two of the many exceptional qualities this school demonstrates.

I have 2 children that have been at St. Mark for 3 years after leaving HISD. We have found the school to be an amazing place for them where you have constant communication with teachers and administration. The small classes provide opportunities for focused learning. We have enjoyed the community and appreciate the diversity of students and parents at the school.

The negative reviews here are nowhere near close to an accurate reflection of how wonderful this little school truly is! My daughters have been attending Dutch Creek for four years, and will be for the next six. The staff at this school has been incredible in supporting my children academically as well as emotionally and socially. One of my children struggles with ADHD and I can't say enough how wonderful and supportive the staff has been. While the school itself is not staffed to handle students with severe disabilities, resources are available to help families with special needs to get the help they need for their children to be successful. My favorite part about this school us their Social Emotional Learning and Behavioral team. This strong core group of professionals has been instrumental in ensuring the emotional well-being of all students here. Incorporating the CREW aspect of EL education, students don't just learn academics at Dutch Creek. The whole school curriculum focuses on the whole child- so not only are they learning math and reading, but also conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and just plain how to be a darn good person in this world! If you're not sure about Dutch Creek. I encourage you to take another look. Don't listen to these outdated, negative reviews. There are so many amazing things about this school. Give it a chance, you won't be disappointed!

This school has a serious bullying problem and favoritism is rampant. If you and your child aren't an east end snob you won't fit in. All they care about is money. Certain faculty members and teachers gossip about parents. This school is very unprofessional.

My child told me how the teachers aren't as great as her previous teachers. She doesn't like the school and she is not motivated. She said the teachers don't "foster learning habits" and she wants to go back to her old school.

Such an amazing school. My son loved Tashua from his first day of kindergarten through the last day of 5th grade. The support families get at Tashua is outstanding, the teachers love what they do, and parents get a lot of opportunities to be involved and make the school even better.

I chose Benway for my son Antonio, (dx ASD/ODD/ADHD) because I was looking for a school that could handle his behaviors with compassion and consistency, while still providing the necessary educational and academic supports. The thing I most liked about the time Antonio was at Benway is that teachers we encountered were always kind, patient and genuinely caring. One thing that really surprised me was the personal attention and interest the staff shows towards Antonio's holistic growth. Antonio began attending Benway in 4th grade, so we had experience with various placements. At Benway, we found the teaching staff created a welcoming environment in which our son was able to grow into his authentic self. When he returned to district in the middle of 10th grade, he was much better prepared to access the curriculum and perform at, and in many cases above, grade level. While social skills continue to be an area for development for Antonio, who is now a rising college freshman, he did learn to be more socially aware and to interact with his peers in an appropriate manner. Academically Antonio has built on the foundation Benway provided, been able to take gen-ed honors and AP classes, and will graduate in the top 15-20% of his class, with impressive GPA and SAT scores. He credits Benway with teaching him to regulate his behavior through direct teaching and clear consequences. I am so grateful for our time at Benway and feel that it was integral to Antonio's remarkable progress. I would highly recommend Benway to other parents.

My child is currently enrolled and has had an awful experience in this school. They have an IEP due to a disability that their staff neither read, nor followed. A student left a review here from the year prior, my child had a similar experience with their art teacher....who should be fired and is the perfect example of "Those who cannot do, teach". But beyond that, my child is failing multiple classes, and despite frequently reaching out for guidance on the how/why/ and how to fix, I'm given answers like "I have too many students to help one individual".....the one individual with a disability...and when I ask my child about their classroom environment and testing situation, they've shared that they are not provided additional time or an isolated environment per their IEP. There is also the issue with bullying. This school does not take bullying seriously. Rather than address the bullies or work to create a safe environment, they will isolate the child being bullied thus painting an even larger target. Our experience has been so bad with the school that we've made the decision to move out of the district because we don't want our child to go through 6 more years of this. We love our home, our neighborhood, and for the most part, the community....but we hate HATE the school system.
