I am a grandmother concerned about bulling in the school and the fact that is being ignored. It is not only in this school but also surrounding schools.

Very dissatisfied with this school so far. Teachers teach the students just enough to pass them. Music students can't read music. History students don't know basic history. Teachers don't know the curriculum themselves so how in the world can they elaborate or teach the subject. You cannot make a suggestion. They do not want or invite parent input at all, unless you donate money. Then they will smile, politely say thank you and continue to ignore everything you just said regarding your child. No wonder Alabama has problems with education. If you don't prompt growth and curiosity in class, if you're afraid to give homework because they whine and complain stating they don't want any...no wonder our education system here is in the shape its in. Haven't you ever heard the saying, 'what you put in, is what you get out of it?' Try it. You'll be surprised at the results!

I found that at Fort Payne High, it all depends on who you are!! If you are not popular, you are nothing!! That does not just pertain to the students but, more so, the staff. My child could not wait to get away from there!!

A good school for students to attend. The school runs on a 'block' schedule whihc means fewer classes per semester but longer class periods. The education quality is acceptable, with cooperation form local Community college for higher level math & english classes. Unfortunately with the No Child Left behind more effort is being put into raising underperformers than superior students. Still the FP City schools outperform the County system available to other residents.
