We have been very pleased with Rocky Ridge Elementary both for our own children and now our grandson. The teachers our grandson had in K-6 and now in 1st grade have been excellent. The education level offered will help prepare them for going forward with their studies.
I am very happy with my children's education at Rocky Ridge Elementary School. I am so happy with the teachers (especially the art program), the administration and the other parents. I am glad that my kids are zoned for this school that has more to offer with different cultures and different social classes. They have both gotten so much from RRES, I am very pleased with their schooling there.
The school is great...completing fifth year at the school and agree completely with the last review. Other than I wish more parents would participate, this school is perfect in every other way. My child is challenged and also has opportunity to participate in progressive programs and utilize technology frequently. The administrators are VERY involved in every student's progress and always visible and supportive. The communication is great and the teachers are enthusiastic...no complaints at all!!
I am actually baffled at the current rating of 6 on this site. Rocky Ridge is an excellent school and is a 10 in my book! The teachers, staff and principals are very friendly and are all great with the kids. There is a high level of dedication and compassion about education and making sure the children get the best. As a mother, I was very pleased with the way they cared for my child, looked out for her safety and well-being, monitored her progress closely and kept me consistently informed of everything going on with her, her class and the school in general. If it weren't for us moving out of the district, I wouldn't hesitate to send her back again. As far as public schools go, this one is excellent and I am glad that my child was able to start her education at Rocky Ridge!
Great Leadership and personal attention to each child. Entering fourth year at the school and could not be more excited! Parent involvement is tough and seems that same parents handle all aspects...wish there was more involvement but the school cannot do anything about that type of issue.
Another year completed at Rocky Ridge and we continue to be impressed. Small classes and welcome parent participation make a huge difference as well as the emphasis on the music, art and technology. Glad we are here!!
The staff is very committed to the kids. Small classes and great leadership. Parents and kids love it!
I am so proud that my children attend Rocky Ridge Elementary! The classes are small with excellent, devoted teachers. There seems to be an emphasis on technology, which is important in our modern world. The school is always squeeky clean.
My child started kindergarten this year. She has done so well and we have felt so welcome. It has been a pleasure watching her learn so much and have fun with learning. After much prayer, God revealed to us that his will was for our child to attend Rocky Ridge (as opposed to private schooling). The size of the classes are smaller than I expected, so I really feel like she gets the attention that she needs in learning. As for the March 20 post, I've not seen any trailers, but frankly, I'm not as concerned about the building my child is in, as much as WHO is in it teaching her, and that teacher's abilities and overall character. As much as there is the world today to worry about when raising a child, trailers are the least of our worries.
We are thrilled with Rocky Ridge. Our daughter started kindergarten there this year. She was reading after two months at school. The teachers and staff are fantastic. We are grateful that our children attend there. We got involved with PTO right from the beginning and that has been wonderful too. :)
I am concerned about the March 2004 response. We have been at Rocky Ridge since 2003 and there have never been any trailers at the school. Most teachers have Master's degrees or more. Many are nationally certified. We have been very pleased with the teachers and the quality of education received at Rocky Ridge. I have nothing negative to say about Rocky Ridge. /
I could not be more happy with Rocky Ridge. My daughter has learned so much in the two years that she has been here, plus she really loves it. I am surprised by the reviewer who disliked the school so much. I have not experienced ANY of the problems listed. If I had a choice of sending my child to a different school or stay at RRES, I would stay where we are. The only problem I have encountered has been with parent involvement, but I do not fault the school for that problem.
We love Rocky Ridge! My daughter went to kindergarten and 1st grade and rocky ridge the school is amazing. The principal makes you feel like part of the family. The teachers are wonderful my daughter has learned to much from this school. They have a great art program. Parents are encouraged to get involed. It is such a wonderful place to learn. We are so sad to be leaving my husbands being stationed in Virginia, we are going to miss rocky ridge so much. I think this school gave my daughter an exceptional foundation for her to learn and i am thankfull she got to go to this school. Hope to find another like it.
My child has had a very positive learning experience at this school. We were forced to transfer here because of rezoning, and we had strong misgivings, beause of negative press. We couldn't have been been more pleasantly surprized. I feel this school has offered my child more, in every way, than his previous school, Greystone.
WE LOVE ROCKY RIDGE!! The teachers are wonderful, educated and kind! Dr. Carrington is great. Everytime I walk in this school I feel at home and very comfortable. I have 3 children here and they are learning so much more than they learned at Trace Crossings last year. When you walk into Rock Ridge you are warmly greeted. The rooms and hallways are so inviting. AWESOME SCHOOL!!!
I grew up in the Hoover School system. I started out at Rocky Ridge and worked my way through Simmons Middle and finally Hoover High. All of the teachers there were friendly, caring people who were always willing to go the extra mile. A few of my old teachers are still there which shows the commitment they have to the children of Hoover. We were not only taught reading, writing, and math skills, but we were also exposed to art, French, rhythm and movement, music, computer, and many other electives. Rocky Ridge also had multiple extracurricular activities like choir, the jump rope for heart team, safety patrol, enrichment, and after-school classes like gymnastics and baton twirling. In my opinion, I couldn't have gotten a better education than the one I received at Rocky Ridge and the other schools in the Hoover School system.
Rocky Ridge is a wonderful school. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The highly trained staff provides a warm and loving atmosphere. The teachers are dynamic and my children are getting a first class education. The principal provides great leadership and expects the best from her staff and the children.
Substandard facilites. Literaly most of the elementary school is in trailers. My children rarely get recess or the opportunity to go outside and play. Academically, very poor. Very little to no homerwork assigned. Teaching is, at best, poorly planned. I can say that the year we have to spend at this school will most like hurt our children both academically and socially.
We have just moved from a small town and we were welcomed like they have known us forever. I joined the PTO program. We are als0 real pleased of the facilities here at Rocky Ridge. I didn't feel out the questioneer because this is our first time at a new school. I hope the kids really shoot for the stars in every area of their life
