Westview Highschool could use much improvement. It has been fine in the past years, but has recently gone downhill. At the beginning of the school year, they started a new schedule, which has caused many problems. There are only 2 lunches that are half an hour long each. There aren't enough tales for all the students, and not enough time to wait in the long lines and eat as well. The classes are only less than an hour long with the new schedule, limiting what students are able to do in classes that often required the whole 2 hours, like culinary, photography, science labs, and wellness. Students are also unable to spend as much time getting help from their teachers since they must be teaching until the bell in order to get enough information into one class period. Along with all the schedule problems, is Westview's unwillingness to change. Suggestions made by students and parents alike are dismissed without a second thought. If the staff of Westview hopes to make this school the best it can be, they need to stop ignoring these and show that they value the opinions of those who attend, or whose children attend the school.

My school is very up and down which is right for a school. People have their good and bad days we are all human. Not all the teachers are helpful but through out my expiernce at westview high school I've learned a lot. This school has three amazing teachers that should be regonized Mr. Erekson , Ms.Neel , and also Mr. Conner. All three of these teachers are not only helpful with school but also with anything going on they are there to talk when you need it and help very much when need help in school they do the best they can they are the reason I'm graduating westview this year. Overall I like westview for how much spirt we have at this school my senior class has so much spirt and i hope that the following years have as much as we do. Yes westview has some faults like they care more about dress code then you being in class and they care so much about your ID but those are required even when you grown up in a professinol envirment. I love this school mostly for everything I've learned not just school wise but also people wise. I'm glad to be leaving though.

I want to say how much my fianc and I enjoyed the football game last Friday night (10/4). We are new to the area and we love school-boy sports. After trying another school a few weeks ago, we thought our school games were over. The language was terrible and there was no support of the team. Westview was such a wonderful experience! We sat with so many kids, dressed up in the school colors, faces painted, supporting each other and the team. No foul language. No "F" word. No "N" word, and because we are senior citizens, we got in free!! This school is doing a good job!! Thanks to everyone, especially the young people for such a great time....GO KNIGHTS!!

The school has provided excellent opportunities and counceling geared toward my daughter's gifted needs and desires for leadership opportunities. The diving coach is top notch. My child feels challenged and we appreciated it. The principal, Dr. Michelle Wilson, is extraordinary and has exceeded my expectations. She intends to raise the grade of the school and is taking steps to make it happen soon.

This school is great. It has one of the highest math scores in all of arizona. the teachers and staff are caring. There are maybe 4 fights a year with over 2400 kids attending. The electives are great *wood shop, piano) I would recommend to any parent.

So far this school has been an excellent school they have a wonderful resource program and their testing is par none. I think they could do a little more improvement on their website for parent communication but other than that I am fairly pleased.

As the class of 2009 Vice-president, I can honestly say that this schools academics, are top notch, and has caring teachers. The sports teams are outstanding, having at least one team place in their district meets, per season. I would Highly recommend this school to all who with to gain a higher education for their child/student.

As a Junior I have too say I would not want too attend any other school I have two great years here and I am anticipating the next two. They have great activities such as BAnd, Sports, Clubs, and ROTC so I feel welcomed and more involved I also feel a since of peace everytime I step on the campus so I feel safe. Thanks Westview!

I too have had a bad experience with the disiplinary staff. Hearsay is the truth and your child is guilty until proven innocent. Once she has your child on her radar, anything that comes up will be your childs fault.

My son is in good hands at WVHS. The teachers, counselors, and administrators are caring and keep me informed of my child's progress. Meet the Teacher Night was excellent. ROTC members helped us find our way around. Now a bonfire is going on. What a novel idea! I am so pleased and proud my son attends WVHS! He is receiving an excellent education.

I have two children attending Westview, a junior and a sophomore. I whole heartily recommend Westview to anyone considering it. My children are from a traditional school and I find that the quality of the AP and advanced classes matches what they were getting at the traditional school where everyone is treated as if they were gifted. They have two hour blocks of teaching for each subject and that really enhances the lessons taught. Also, a mandatory 20 minutes (SSR) has been added to every class for free reading. I have talked with parents whose children are also in high school and I feel that mine are getting a better education and experience than those at other schools. Get your kids involved in after school programs!

As a former student of Westview I thought that the school was an excellent place to transition from the grade school era to young adulthood and I honestly think that the staff at Westview was excellent and seemed to care about every student they had, and would always try to help anybody who needed help. I would recommend Westview over any other local high school

Westview has it's ups and downs like any other school. It is not perfect. It has an excellent program for advanced students if your child is very smart it's all there for the taking. But for the rest I can only say good luck. Because if this student wants to attend college, they are lost, especially in math. Good study habits are not taught to these children. The teachers are very caring, but this does not help out in college. The campus is very nice and the students for the most part are very respectful and I feel it is a safe environment. And yes the teachers are not always on top of returning parents calls. But overall it's not a bad school. I think it's the same at a lot of school these days. I have 3 children that graduated from Westview.

As a student here at Westview, I strongly disagree with the reviews below me. If your child is falling behind in ANY class, it is due to his or her own laziness. The teachers' here do an excellent job. If you are falling behind & ask for help, they will be more than happy to help you out. As for the fights? there has only been 1 or 2 fights on campus this entire year! Security does a great job at keeping everyone safe. Also, you (parents) cannot expect to be seen when ever YOU want, you must take the teachers' schedule into consideration as well. This was my first year at Westview & I can honestly say I had a very good time here. I can't complain on anything.

A decent staff of teachers, but a few bring the whole school down. I have found some instrutors to be combative and defensive when dealing with me (a parent). I have also had occasion to discover teachers insulting students. It would seem that much of the disiplinary staff operates on heresay rather than fact. On the other side, the counseling staff, the attendance supervisior (?... initials GR), and the head of security (at the time of this writing) are all excellent. This school needs many more of these types of people.

I have a senior and freshmen at west view. It took three days to register my children, which is unacceptable. My son hates the school and wants to transfer to a school that is more academically challenging. Staff is disrespectful of parents and parent's time and completely inept. Do not send your child here.

westview high school is dreadfully packed and my son,of whom is struggling in math, isn't able to receive adequate help. Also I have made numerous request to speak with teachers and they never seem to respond. This added to the fact that many of the students engage in fights is why after this year I will be switching him to Millennium High School.

the academic program is really good! I feel that I can look back and be very satisfied with everything that I learned from Westview! I also enjoy all the after school programs that they offer us students. Not only can we join clubs but we can be a positive role model! I'm very pleased with all the electives that they have to offer! It makes me feel that I will be sure of what I want to pursue my career in! Thanks staff for offering us all these great opportunities.

As a former Westview student I would say it is the best high school around. You get all the credentials you need to go to college and start a new life. The teachers there are very dedicated. One inpaticular was Mr. Neat. I would recomend westview high school to any parent trying to find a good high school.

After viewing the recent aims test scores for Westview, I have realized that it is an excellent school and deserves to be among one of the top. The students get along well, few fights, few threats, etc. Thank you Westview for being the great school that you are!

I am a former student at Westview High School (class of 2003) and this school was by far one of the better high schools. My math teachers, Mrs. Marsit and Mr. Mostofo, were especially great at motivating me and getting me to comprehend the required material. The electives are also really diverse so you can pursue interests or discover new ones. There were far less fights than at other schools and for the most pat, all of the students got along. It was definately a better school than some of the other high schools.

If your child does not fit Westview's mold, his/her high school year's will be less than memorable. Westview bends over backwards for high achieving or athletically competitive students. If you don't play a team sport, or struggle with academics, expect to be treated differently. They don't seem to have programs for kids who need extra help. My kids have been openly criticized by teachers on numerous occasions which has made them hate going to school. They have learning disabilities but are too smart for the special ed classrooms. They don't have anything appropriate for their level and regular classroom teachers won't accomodate for them.

My daughter is now a Sophmore at Westview. She has had a great experience here so far. The school is very well-maintained, with a friendly, inviting climate. The administration and teachers maintain a disciplined campus that allows my daughter to feel safe. Her teachers always make themselves available to her when she needs them, and her advanced classes provide the academic support that she will need to continue on to post-secondary education. We are very happy.

Large public high school with the expected drawbacks and benefits (large class sizes, impersonal, but lots of different classes to chose between and a good variety of sports and club opportunities). They seem to be above average for this area (which admittedly isn't saying much). Their biggest standout is their dual enrollment progam. this program allows students to enroll in advanced level courses (2nd & 3rd year Spanish, Calculus, A/P History and others) and get both high school and college credits. The school even subsidizes the college tuiton! The classes are taught on the high school campus, by college certified teachers. The student gets a report card/grades from his highschool and also from Estrella Mountain community college. My oldest son already had about 20 college credits when he graduated from High school.
