Sonoma Ranch Elementary School

I went to this school from kindergarten til the 6th grade. Now im a freshman. The teacher's there are the best, the tricks they use to help us i still use to this very day! I rate this school 5 stars! I love and miss you all!

The office staff is outstanding. The teachers we have had (especially mrs. Munley in music and the former p.E. Teacher) have been super committed and incredible. The principal needs people skills. If our decision rode on him to send our kids to school there or not we would not- but the rest of the staff is so great that we choose to stay.

I disagree with the comment below Great Special Education Teachers. Do your research before sending your kids to this school if they have special ed needs. We are almost done at Sonoma Ranch for special ed but things have really changed over the last two years. When a principal and school psychologist don t want to be there to help the kids who need it, it is downhill from there. If your child doesn t have special ed needs, the classroom teachers are wonderful and the Sonoma Ranch community is great.

This school has great teachers and a fantastic PTSO!! Wonderful. This year though has been such a disappointment in the principal. We have been spoiled for many years prior. It is a sad shame that we received him. All we ask is that a leader actually likes children and wants to be around them. Stiffed necked, snooty people don't belong with children. Disapointment is on the minds of so many of the parents. Not many are speaking up as far as we know, but we know the truth. I feel soooo sorry for the teachers also.

My child has been at Sonoma Ranch for 3 years. This is an excellent school - from academics to teacher/parent involvement. The communication is wonderful. When we transferred here, everyone made my son feel welcome!

I find Sonoma Ranch Elementary top notch. Starting from the principle to the teachers they provide a great and safe learning environment for my children. I love the 'Character Counts' program that emphasis on respect for yourself and others. It is also nice to have the option for your child to choose to play an instrument in traditional band or strings (violin, cello, base). There is also the 'fun run' the kids love and our 'family picnic' (that was a lot of fun). Sonoma Ranch gives you the feeling of a big family.

My daughter has been at Sonoma Ranch for almost 3 years now. I love the teachers and principal. They (teachers and principal) want and try to see that the children succeed. There are numerous extracurricular activities (such as Fun Runs) in which the children can participate. The teaching quality has been very good, and, to this point, there has been a safe and nourishing learning environment. There is quite a bit of parental involvement but it could be better.

My son has been at this school for 2 years and it has been great. The staff is wonderful and take the time to know each child individually. My son has special education needs and they have been very good to work with setting his annual IEP. The only thing I am disappointed in is the lack of parent involvement in the PTSO. It would be nice if more people would show for meetings.

We have been residents of Sonoma Ranch since 1999. Four of my children have all attended Sonoma Ranch Elementary School. I love everything about the school except for the principal. The school's previous principal retired in either 2000 or 2001. The new one certainly leaves alot to be desired. I have had a few run ins with this new principal, which were either iniated by myself or by her.

It used to be a great school, but not anymore after my daughter and I have experienced there for two years with changed principle. The principle is the main problem we have to deal with. I can't trust her and I am tired of dealing with her. She is the person you wish you never met her. I can't risk my daughter's future there. I am moving her to another school.

This is our son's first year at Sonoma Ranch, and it has been a wonderful experience. The teachers and staff are very helpful. The school streses the 'Character Counts' Program which I find very important at this age group. The principal knows all of the children by name and is very involved with them. Keep up the good work Sonoma Ranch!

Sonoma Ranch has offered my children a great start in preparing them for the future. The teachers are very caring and motivated to help the children be their best. The district offers many options for student to develop their strengths and Sonoma Ranch has been a wonderful place for my children.
