Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Weinberg is so calming. My children transferred this year from another district and have never been happier. The involvement of the principal, office staff, teachers, aides, parents is outstanding. I can only brag about how fascinating Weinberg is because I believe and see it daily. The principal, Mr. Shelley, acknowledges everyone by name and associates your children to you. He is also at every event helping and showing his spirit. The Spaulding program taught my 1st grader the same education my 5th grader learned in another district. My children love going to school and everything else about it. I am blessed to be here.

My school is the Greatest because they make your child feel IMPORTANT! They look at every child and see that they are all different with different abilities. if your child is struggling in an area of concern, they contact you and try and work with you for the childs best way to correct his or her problem. If it is reading they try and concentrate on it, without pitting the child in a situation where he or she may think there is something wrong with them.Even if they are having trouble in certain studies, they try and acknowledge that they are doing well. Sometimes they give them an acheivement award or something that will make your child feel good about his progress. All of the Staff and teachers somehow connect with the children during their days at school. My son seemed to know an awful lot of the staff and teachers he had little contact with. Everyone there is always pleasant and professional.I do think the school should focus a little more on reading and writing. They also try and keep your child interested in his work.I beleive that first and second grades need more time on reading. This is the most important lesson, can"t read or understand what your reading you are lost.

If you are not in the school district, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE! The Principal said that our childs boundary exception has been revoked, due to absences. He had 9 half way though the year. Then came up with a lousy explanation. To kick a child out of a school he loves and a teacher he loved also is WRONG!!!

We have attended three different CUSD schools and Weinberg is by far the best in every aspect. Mr. Shelly, the principal, is very approchable and attentive. I feel like he really tries to get to know each student on a personal level and the teachers seem to work well with him. We have 3 children attending and every teacher we have had has been terrific! The office staff is outstanding and the campus is beautiful!

This is our first year at Weinberg and don't have enough good things to say. I don't live in the CUSD district but was lucky enough to receive admission during open enrollment for all three of my kids. The principle is involved and is great with the kids. I love my sons teacher, Courtney Hoffmeyer (4th grade). She has been the best we have ever had. I see the kids being challenged and teacher who care about their academic and readiness for the next grade. Great job, Weinberg!

Hi I have been at weinberg since 1st grade and I lovee this school.I always enjoy having Mr. Walters around beacuse he always has enough creativity to fill the whole entire world! The only thing is some teachers are the meanest people ever like a lady who teaches 5th grade named Ms.Kaufman, she is so rude even my mom hates, also a lunch lady named patty. Other than that though everyone there is a joy thanks for reading my comment byee!!

We love Weinberg! We have been at Weinberg since 2007 and have loved every day of it. All 3 of my children have had a great experience and have felt that the teachers and administration were very interested in their success. This year I will have a 6th gader and a 2nd grader and I am very much looking forward to what they will accomplish. Mr.Walters is a wonderful principal who knows the kids at his school. His positive attitude and commitment is evident throughout the teachers and staff. I'm very grateful my kids have been able to go to such a great school.

My son has been here for 3 years, K-2nd and we love it! He is in the special education classroom and the teachers/aides are wonderful! He has improved so much and loves his friends. I'm also happy that they integrate him with other 2nd grade classes as well! Everyone is very kind and extremely supportive.

My children have attended Weinberg for the past 5 years. We love the school, teachers, and office staff! Four of my children have attended Weinberg and in all these years every teacher has been wonderful and easy to work with! I feel that my children are pushed to excel in academics and that the teachers go above and beyond to ensure that each child gets the best education. Weinberg is a great school!

This is my daughter's second year at Weinberg. She is very bright and loves to read and write. Her Kindergarten teacher ensured she was always challenged in class and sent home first grade homework to keep her from getting bored. The teachers are very enthusiastic so far and the principal is very involved. My daughter loves going to school and enjoys the on site before and after school program.

This is the no fun school. Teachers lack excitement and creativity. Principle runs it more like prison than school. No fun school should be motto

My daughter attended Weinberg her kindergarten year going from CTA and hating school to Weinberg and loving it. She's very excited to return for First Grade. I'm grateful to her teacher Mrs. Sessions for all her hard work and efforts that she put into my daughter. Mrs. Sessions did a wonderful job We will miss her.

Weinberg is a good school that's dedicated to their kids. I like how Weinberg involves the parents in their childs education. Mr. Walters is a hands on principal that has exceeded my expectations of an elementary school principal. Thanks you for that!

We just moved here from out of state right before spring break. My kids have done exceptionally well with the transistion due to the help of their teachers. Mr. Walters welcomed them the first day, and both my kids think it is so cool that he will sometimes eat lunch with the students on Fridays.

Our family has had a very good year at Weinberg Elementary. Our son has advanced in education with Mrs. Kaufman his fifth grade teacher. Mr. Walters is a hands on prinicpal and I strongly believe that's what makes our school so great. Great Job Mr. Walters!

We love Weinberg! When the district reworked boundaries, we bought a house and moved to stay in the Weinberg boundary. My son has had exceptional teachers and Mr. Walters is an example to all principals of what is like to be 'hands on' and care for the children under your watch. The office staff, nurse, counselor, etc. are all first-rate in their work ethic and their personal demeanor. I wish we could stay there through high school!

My 3 older children went to a different elementary school in the Chandler Unified School District,, and I have to say that Weinberg has been such a refreshing change! The parent involvement and the principal and his love for the children attending 'his' school are to be commended!Even my little 6 year old comments on what a 'cool' man Mr. Walters is! I as a parent love to see that Mr. Walters is a 'hands on' principal and he genuinely cares about the students at his school.

My daughter likes this school every much. My daughter is in Kindergarten this year. Mrs. Steingraber, her teacher is a caring and an excellent teacher. Mrs. Steingraber is great in communicating with us about our daughter's learning. My daughter is at advance level in both reading and Math. She works hard to ensure that my daughter learns more beside the Kindergarten curriculum. The other Kindergarten teachers and the rest of the Weinberg Staffs are also very friendly and helpful. Mr. Joe Walter seems to be very friendly to the students. School is almost over. Thanks to Mrs. Steingraber and the Staffs of the Weinberg Elementary school for giving my daughter a wonderful experience in her Kindergarten year. A well done year! Way to go Weinberg!

This is a great school and the teachers work very hard to make it the best for the students, they really care. Mr. Walters is a wonderful principal and I see him interact with the students and faculty every time I am there. He is very interested in what is going on within his school and his students. He truly cares to make a difference! My children love the school and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really appreciate everything Mr. Walters and his staff do each and every day! Tina Pederson

At Weinberg Elementary the front office Staff is good. While, attending a couple of pickups with my child. I believe children should give the appropriate response and time needed to full fill there questions. One of the I.T. personnel has an aggressive and uneasy approach when answering the phone or a child has a question. We all have tough days and I believe we should all maintain our professionalism even when our days can be overwhelming or we don't have the patience. Mr. Walters is a Wonderful Principal and we will see him again, next year! Good job, Mr. Walters!

Mr. Walters has been a great principal. He has taken time to talk to me on several occasions about the kids and teacher choices. He is very caring and constantly around. I see him on campus walking and visiting with teachers or students. He really cares for the staff, students and parents in his school. Thank you Mr Walters. We really appreciate you.

My daughter loves this school. She has been here since kindergarten. She loves the principle Mr. Joe Walter. Her first grade teacher was creative and wonderful (Mrs. Van De Beuken). However, I will pull her out because her learning level is going backward. She is learning the same thing (in Math) as last year.... too bad their learning standard isn't high enough..

My son is in his second year at this school. When I first moved into the area so many people started off talking about the school by saying...'It's so old.' Then they continued to tell me all the bad things they'd heard. It seemed to me a very superficial way to choose a school. No one who disliked the school had actually sent their children there. We have had nothing but wonderful things to say about Mr. Walters and Weinberg. The two teachers we have dealt with are loving and attentive to my son and they have both been phenomenal about communicating with parents. Mrs. Smoot and Miss Delahaut deserve raises! The fact that this school is older makes it so much better in my mind. They have their act together... they've weeded out the bad teachers... they aren't constantly asking for money to support the PTO. Way to go Weinberg!

As my son's first year of school ends, I must say that Weinberg and the Kindergarten teachers(especially Mrs. Douglas) are exceptional. I, myself, am a teacher and I have been overly impressed with the staff, the school itself, and the parental involvement. We have been redistricted but I am doing open-enrollment so that my son can stay at this stellar school! By the way, the principal is regularly out and about mingling with the students and supporting the teachers. This is truly a GREAT school!

Weinberg is a adequate school overall but some of the teachers seem disengaged with the students as well as the parents. I also didn't feel the inviting warm feeling you would expect at an elementary school. Finally I am from the Midwest and the grade level education is different(behind- Midwest/ East Coast is doing much more at earlier ages) from the west coast which i expected based on everything i heard prior to moving here. I selected Weinberg because i was told their curriculum was more advanced- it's not!

I pulled my son out of this school because my son went from loving school to hating every morning I dropped him off. He would beg me not to take him there. I decided to go and volunteer only to be turned away by his teacher saying 'it was disrupting to the other students.' I have also had another neighbor who needed the IEP program for her child and that was a joke, they rather hold kids back and suggest that they need medications than actually help them to learn and achieve. My son is now in a charter school and once again loves school and is a straight A student.

Weinberg has been our school for 3 years and I have been very pleased with this school. Mr. Walters has done a phenomenal job improving the schools environment, educationally as well as aesthetically. He has gone well beyond the 'normal' expectations of a school principal. The office staff is fantastic and all my children's teachers have been great. Yes, it is a crowded school, but again, Mr. Walters has done many things to correct that and the class sizes have been reduced. This is a good school.

Our son attended Weinberg for Kindergarten 2005-2006. The school was not so impressive. The communication between teacher and parent is lacking. We actually missed his Kindergarten program that was held on the last day of school due to the wrong info being sent out. Apparently another notice was sent home, but we never received it. This is coming from parents who check the backpack every day. I was also displeased at the report card sent home with him on the last day of school. Under teacher comments it read 'He has improved in his math and readin skills. He needs to learn to be a better listener and show respect for his classmates.' We HAVE NEVER heard from that teacher that our son did not show respect for classmates. WE would be all over that. What a nice thing to put on his final report. Would not recommend Weinberg!

Too crowded.... With the class size at this school it's amazing the kids learn anything at all. Fabulous teachers, but their classes are so huge, it's hard for them to teach.

Weinburg has been great to my son and daughter. My son went into 1st grade not being able to read. Weinburg implemented reading programs during school and after school to assist childeren like my son. My son is in 2nd grade and reads everything he gets his hands on. The teachers are very dedicated to the students, the office staff and nurse go out of the way to make things happen for the childeren. And well the new principal is exposing Weinburg to new and fresh ideas and seems committed to working with the district to meet and exceed the current needs and challenges.

Moving from the East Coast I was really worried about all the schools in Arizona, after seeing some of the test scores and testing averages. My son is very bright and is doing wonderful at Weinberg. He loves his class and teacher. His teacher keeps in touch with me about his progress and ways she and I can better challenge him in class and at home. He will soon be tested for the Talented and Gifted Program. Also, I was looking at the test scores for the schools in our area and Weinberg is well over the 50% average. Some schools in Chandler are not. I believe working closely with our children and their teachers is the key.

This is the second school my children have attended in the Chandler school district. I thought Chandler school district was doing a great job in providing my children a quality education in a positive atmosphere. When my children started at Weinberg this year my opinion changed. Weinberg has not been a positive experience for us. The prinicpal lacks professionalism. Although there are some quality teachers at this school, my child's teacher is uncaring and unrealistic in her expectations.
