Imagine West Gilbert has been an amazing school in so many ways. Moving into the STEM school year I am so excited about the hands on learning and the advanced curriculum. I am a parent and a teacher and couldn't be more excited about the up coming school year. Imagine West Gilbert continues to impress the community with their ability to adapt to all learning styles and incorporate innovative projects. If you have not looked at Imagine West Gilbert take the time to look at our website and attend one of the weekly STEM nights this summer, you can have some fun, meet the teachers, and see the great things that Imagine West Gilbert has to offer!!!!

I like this school because of its diversity. The students are from all walks of life and their diversity is respected and celebrated. I am always welcomed when I show up to the school unannounced. Surprise! The children seem very happy and respectful of each other and their environment. The girls bathroom could use an update (that's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars). I am a grandmother and care as much for the social development as the academic development of my grandbabies. Imagine West Gilbert delivers.

I have been working at Imagine West gilbert for 4 years. I started as an aide and now am a 2nd grade teacher. I have never worked at a school where the mission/vision mimics my personal beliefs. I am a firm believer in teaching character and responsibility and I can do that on a daily basis. I am allowed to do what is best for kids to succeed and encouraged to grow as a tescher. This school is warm and welcoming to all who enter. I love the small two feel of my school!!

I cannot say enough great things about Imagine West Gilbert! My son is in first grade and he absolutely loves going to school every day! He loves that they "learn a lot" and do a lot of fun activities. I love that we get data binders each week that allow me to stay involved in what he is learning and how he is performing. Each student is treated like an individual and teachers strive to meet their individual needs.

What an awesome school! Both of my children attend Imagine West Gilbert. I am very impressed with the academic rigor and the loving and caring attitude of the teachers and staff. My son has made incredible progress this year compared to the old school they attended. Communication with parents is fantastic. Both of my children s teachers use email extensively and are always available to speak with. The school has a lot of great activities from amazing assemblies celebrating student success, to a fall festival and school nights at local restaurants. I had the opportunity to go to the Veterans Day celebration this year and was blown away at the sense of community and student involvement displayed. I have never seen this level of commitment in a school to develop students not just academically but into successful members of society. They also have a wonderful before and after care program that allows my children to complete homework and be in a safe caring environment until I pick them up after work. I would HIGHLY recommend Imagine West Gilbert to anyone looking for a quality school for their children.

This is our 2nd year at Imagine West Gilbert and we love it. It is such a caring environment. Any time there have been any issues with behavior or questions on anything, the staff has been quick to respond and help work through things. I love the smaller charter school feel and love individual attention my child receives.

My son has been attending Imagine West Gilbert for three years and my Daughter just started this fall. I can only say wonderful things about the school and their staff. We walk in and they always know the kids names and show me that my child is important to them. They are organized and offer a lot of different activites for the children. Teachers are really proactive in trying new processes and working with each childs individual needs. The before and aftercare programs are a huge help for me as well.

We have two children that have been attending Imagine Schools at West Gilbert for 4 years, from pre-school through 2nd grade. Obviously we can't comment on the teachers that we have no experience with, but overall our experience has been fantastic. The pre-school program provides an amazing opportunity for the students to learn the basics and become accustomed to attending school. The programs across all grades give each student the chance to learn at their own pace and they are encouraged to excel in all aspects. The change in leadership over the past two years has been handled professionally without much impact to the students. We can see that the staff has a vision for the future and is already exploring new programs to give the children a solid foundation and exposure to new knowledge/technology. The bottom line is that we feel our children are in great hands each day when they are dropped off and they come home happy and eager to share what they've learned.

I have a daughter that attends Imagine West Gilbert and I couldn't be happier with the teachers and the staff! We are greeted every morning by a welcoming front office. IWG is such a Great School!! The teachers enjoy the work they do and always encourage parents to be more involved in different activities or school events. My 3 kids, Jaliyah, Aaliyah and Jayden have now been attending IWG for 3 years and they absolutely love it! Mrs. Triebel is my daughter's 1st grade teacher and she is AWESOME!! I can tell she actually cares about the students and their families and nowadays, that is hard to find in a teacher. Mrs. Black is my son's 2nd grade teacher as well as my daughters' cheer coach and she is MORE than Terrific! We love you Mrs. Black! Lastly, My oldest daughter is in Middle School and the middle school staff is sooo great! Ms. DeBatty, Ms. Roberts and Ms. Gerard are 3 of the best teachers in the world! The school is like a big family and I like the fact that there is an open door policy if anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions. If you would like your kids to go to a school where the Staff is friendly, easy to reach and most importantly the students get the best education, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOUR FAMILY!!

I feel Imagine West Gilbert encompasses all you desire for your child. They focus on strong academics, excellent character building, high expectations, love, care, and nurturing. This is my daughter's first year at Imagine West Gilbert and for once I feel she is being challenged academically. She now understands the meaning of working hard and putting forth effort in order to succeed. I love that her teacher expects the best from her and does not allow her to settle for less. Not only does her teacher expect the best from her, but she now owns her education and can tell you how she is performing academically as a student. On top of that, she participates in extra curricular activities which many other elementary schools do not offer. She loves to come to this school and that makes me happy and proud as a parent!!!

Focus on character, leadership and academics. Both my KG and 4th grader love going to school and I'm amazed at how much they learn. We've been to several local schools and the communication from both teachers and administration is incredible, even responding during the weekends. They get the students to take responsibility for their own behavior by teaching them character. This leads to a better environment for everybody without having to impose strict discipline. This is an amazing feat considering what children put them through (including my own kids). However, they do have a strict no-bullying policy; we've seen it enforced and really appreciate this considering events at some of the other schools. I can't express how much of a positive experience this school has been for us and our kids. I encourage everybody to at least take a tour and see if it's the right environment for your children.

This is the best of the best ! We have sent our son here for the last four years... each year, he enjoys it more and more... It is one of those kind of schools where everyone gets to know you... from the staff in the office, to the principle and the school cook ! Uniforms are a must, which makes all the kids on equal level to begin with. Having a child with ADHD and being able to see him cope so well with his teacher, is a blessing. They understand... they listen.. they have the knowledge to help your child, achieve the dreams of a career or higher education. You and your child will benefit when you enrol at Imagine West Gilbert.

Every teacher at Imagine Gilbert shows a sincere intrest in making sure my children are getting the most out of everyday be it socially or intellectually. From the moment we enter the school Mr. Rawley greets my children by name. Heather and all the girls in the before and after school program are amazing and have found individual ways of making my , sometimes needy daughter, feel at ease. In a time span of two months Mr. Black has taken my five year old son from not knowing how to spell "Dog" to reading full sentences. Mrs. Tammy (pre-k) is simply my saving grace!!!! She has the biggest heart and personal relationship with each student. We love, love, love Imagine West Gilbert!!

Thank you so much Mr. Ampha for radiating your amazing quest to reach these kids...to be personally interested in everyone of them...to make every effort to give them the light and the excitement to want to reach for the stars and succeed..Trinity has recently expressed wanting to try a public school having heard it is way easier from many...I have been struggling with this...She came away from Mr Ampha today telling me she was wrong and she would rather work harder and that Mr Ampha has things to teach her...WOW...Mr Ampha you are making an impact and a difference ..This is one of the good ones! I am a first year teacher here at Imagine West Gilbert. From the time of my first interview to being hired, I have felt nothing but acceptance, guidance and positive feedback from the administers and other teachers. I absolutely believe in the goals and mission of Imagine West Gilbert. I have never been in a school before that focuses on having good character along with high academic standards. I plan on staying at Imagine West Gilbert and continuing to be that positive influence in our Imagine family.

This is our first year at this school and we absolutely love it! Both my kids are excelling in every subject. This school is truly focused on developing amazing character and high level academics! The students are very respectful to staff, parents and each other. The teachers and administration are all great! When enrolling I was slightly concerned with the rating being a 6... However I now know that they strive to teach the kids and actually want them to understand the academic concepts rather than just focusing on memorizing problems in order to get high test scores. I feel as if so many schools nowadays just focus on their rating rather than the kids best interest. This school has such an incredible heart for kids! It's unique and refreshing! So glad we found this school that has such a small town "everybody knows your name" environment!

My daughters started this school 2 years ago and we have had such a great experience. My youngest was in the Pre-k 3 and 4 program, and it was excellent. My daughter loved school and made "best friends". Going to different centers in the valley, she never had actually liked going to "school", but she LOVED Imagine. The teachers are wonderful and she learned so much. They wanted her to be at school so they could prepare her for Kindergarten. And she is well prepared, she is already learning how to read sight words, and can write her name first and last in upper and lower case. My oldest started in Kindergarten and her teacher was phenomenal (Mrs. Push). She also loved going to school. First grade for her was a little challenging, but nothing that effected her grades or performance. We had to move due to work, and going into public school now, I can really appreciate now how great the education is at Imagine. Every school has its quirks, but for us the pros outweighed the cons. It really is like a family, its a smaller community of people, which we will miss.

I find this school to be caring and understanding of working mom's they work with you in every area pretaining to your child's learning and education. The teacher here care about there students, worry about there students. The teacher also teach the children to respect each other and to be better citizen.

I think this school is AMAZING! My daughter has been attending Imagine @ West Gilbert for 2 years and I am so happy we switched schools. I love the weekly communication with teachers. If I am unable to make it to any school events the teachers keep the communication open by either email or simply calling me. My daughters current teacher also offers free tutoring, which has really helped improve her test scores. I would definitely recommend this school to any family!

I am severely disappointed in this 'school'. Before enrolling your child, do your homework. This institution is run like a business. Children are dollar signs, best practices are not used, teachers are not certified (ask to see updated resumes-they are legally bound to have them available to parents), and their AIMS scores are in the toilet. Don't let Imagine babysit your kids. Enroll them elsewhere for any kind of education.

Imagine offers quality education. We have been at Imagine for 5 years and love it! Every teacher that my boys have had has truly cared about them. It is very easy to communicate with the teachers and staff. Imagine is very welcoming of parent involvement. Although, they never push you or make you feel guilty if you can't volunteer. My children are honor roll students and continue to be challenged academically. Once they master a skill, they are given more advanced assignments. Learning never becomes stagnant.

We have been at Imagine for two years. The staff is wonderful. The teachers are caring and take an individualized approach to each child. I see a lot of positive reinforcement and my child has developed a love for learning as a result. The emphasis the school places on good character makes for a nice student body too. I love that my kid enjoys school and I am amazed at how much she has learned in this well rounded environment.

Before coming to this school my daughter hated school, and was stressed out all the time. Since we made the change this year she has grown immensely, and I no longer have to fight with her to go to school in the morning. Her teacher is very caring, and best of all understands that all kids are individuals and treats them as such.

I chose this school using this website and emailing the Dean of Students due to moving here from another state. The Dean was very informative and answered all my questions as well as holding a spot for my 3 children since we were a week late for the start of school. The school year is almost over and I can't say enough good things about this school. Pre-k has been lots of fun for my 4 year old and she is starting to read simple words already. My first grader has excelled academically and socially as well. She is reading chapter books and learning so much about herself and her character. My son who is in seconds grade was the one I was worried about after having a not so good first grade experience at his previous school. His teacher has been an angel who has helped him in everyway possible. She is just an awesome teacher and she helped my son set goals and achieve them, she understands his crazy behaviors that can sometimes get him in trouble and deals with them in a caring and fair way. He has made me so proud of him this year and all the things he has learned and overcome! This is because of Imagine school and his teacher, who was voted teacher of the year!

Our kids have been at Imagine for 2.5 years now and they couldn't be happier! They are now getting ready to complete 2nd grade. The school sets high standards of excellence in both academics and life learning. They do more than just the basic school work - Imagine Schools also focus on teaching the kids about respect, integrity and having good character. Something we consider to be very important. The academics are a little more challenging at Imagine, but the teachers are always available to the students and parents. The high test scores prove that! Being able to communicate with the teachers, whenever needed, is one things that I am most thankful for. Each teacher also treats each student individually. They work with each individual and they take time to understand each student so everyone succeeds. We are all so happy with this school!

We can't say enough good things about this school. We moved our son here from another school and it has proven to be the best decision we ever made for his education. The atmosphere, the activities, the academics, this school has exceeded our expectations. It's evident every day how much they care about the kids and how much they value education. Our son loves school again instead of crying every day. He is thriving and has learned more here in 1 semester than he was even exposed to in public school in an entire year. Their teaching method, the great class projects, the approach to learning, recognizing and appreciating each child's individuality is really the best.

My son has attended Imagine for a year now and we couldn't be more pleased. We thought that it was a great school to get him introduced to a real school campus. This has been a wonderful transition from a small intimate group setting (Goddard) to a larger class that mimics what Kindergarten will have in store. The staff is great and his teacher Mrs. Richards is amazing! He has learned so much so quickly. We are truly grateful for such a wonderful school and their unbeatable curriculum. Would highly recommend this school.

My daughter has attended Imagine West Gilbert since Kindergarten and is now in 4th grade. She developed a great relationship with each one of her teachers and has matured academically and socially. I like the Leader in Me program that has been instituted which has helped her prioritize and learn strong positive character traits. The curriculum is challenging and the teachers use a variety of resources to keep the students interested in learning. The 4th grade class recently had an overnight trip to the Desert Outdoor Center in Lake Pleasant and my daughter learned a lot in addition to having a great time.

As a parent, I believe they take pride in providing an exceptional education while instilling confidence and integrity among their students. I am impressed by their ability to meet my children s unique educational needs. The teachers and staff at IWG are absolutely wonderful. Our family truly enjoys being a part of such an excellent school.

My daughter has been going to Imagine West Gilbert since Kindergarten. We tried another charter school for kindergarten, but the staff was less than supportive or involved. Since moving her to IWG she has excelled at everything she has tried. The teachers are always available to help me guide my child through her scholastic experience. The other children at the school are some of the nicest children I have met and the staff is always working to make this a great experience for my child. It's a shame there are not more schools in the community like this one. Shawn R - Chandler, AZ

My children are four and attend Pre-K at Imagine West Gilbert. They offer a full-day program at a competitive price. I love that they are in a classroom setting, rather than a daycare setting. One small thing that I like, is that restrooms for Preschool and Kindergarten are in the classrooms. They do not leave the class by themselves EVER. This program is definitely preparing them for Kindergarten. They have learned to write their alphabet, numbers, count to 100, and are reading sight word books. This school offers a similar program for 3-year-olds. I would have sent my kids there earlier had I known about it. The teachers and staff are friendly. The school and campus are clean. The uniform dress code is a plus for me. There is a real focus on teaching children the meaning of respect and citizenship. The school is also big on campus safety. Everyone must enter through one door, and must sign in each time. I appreciate the extra effort they make, even though it takes more time. I do recommend this school, especially for the preschool programs.

My daughter has been going to West Gilbert since Kindergarten. I have been really happy about her continued growth as a person and as a scholar. This school is wonderful! The teachers and support staff are all very engaged in the students. You see them every morning assisting youngsters out of vehicles and greeting the students by name. Every Friday they have a school wide assembly which really unites the student body. During these assemblies, special weekly accomplishments are noted and celebrated. The school also embodies the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Children and has implemented The Leader in Me program. It is a very secure campus and offers a variety of after school activities as well as before and after care. The teachers have unique motivating rewards for their class which have been effective in boosting positive behavior. We are really happy to have found this school.

I want to tell you how amazing the Teachers and staff are at Imagine West Gilbert. From the new student orientation, when from the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed with smiles and people that are willing to help and answer any questions. Now that my son is in 4th grade I appreciate how his teacher cares so much and is always so open with communication. All of the staff is always helpful and truly do care about our kids and their education. I could not ask for the better school for my twins. The school feels like family... My children are thriving and are excited to go to school every single day... They are treated as individuals, not considered as a number to reach the test score. This school should have 10 + rating. All the teachers in the school know my twins by their first names. Academics are as important as character development. Could not be happier.

If you are looking for a school that cares, and values your child and their success...this is the school!!! Imagine West Gilbert has so much to offer their students. We recently moved to Arizona, and I was so worried my children would have a tough time adjusting to a new school. Imagine West Gilbert administration, teachers and support staff warmly welcomed my three children, and made it such an easy transition for them. This school not only has great administration, teachers and support staff, but it offers a great education! The children have music, PE, library and computers weekly, and in addition to that, great classroom learning. We are very impressed with this school, and if you're looking for a quality private-school like education, I highly recommend sending your child here!

My boys have been attending Imagine West Gilbert for the last two years (pre-K and K). I cannot say enough good things about it. The teachers are incredible - supportive, caring, encouraging, challenging, firm. The administrative staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and always greet my kiddos by name each morning (a big deal to 5 and 6 year olds). Not only does IWG challenge our kids and meet our academic expectations, but they put a strong emphasis on character development that has had a great impact on our kids. We couldn't be happier and look forward to another wonderful school year for 2013-2014.

This school changed my son's life. I know it sounds cliche, but that is truly the impact this school has had on our lives. We started out in public schools, and thats when my son's behaviors really started getting out of control. Then we moved to another charter school, with pretty much the same results. I did some research and found Imagine West Gilbert. I believe with all my heart that the teachers and staff at this school helped my son realize his true potential. He is now a dream student. Excelling and blossoming! He went from a trouble child to a straight A student. I believe that he was not being mentally challenged at the other schools and at Imagine it is all about personalized learning. Thank you so much Imagine Schools!

I have been very impressed with West Gilbert and would highly recommend it! Our daughter started there last year as a second grader and we couldn't believe what a great education she received. We had moved to AZ from NM last year and paid a fortune for our kids to attend a private school. We were shocked to find out that the education and concepts taught at West Gilbert were the same as the private school in NM and we didn't have to pay a fortune. We have now enrolled our son in the pre-k 4 program and have yet again been very impressed. The teachers are wonderful and truly care about the students. Our daughter has been at West Gilbert since she was 4. She just finished 1st grade and her teacher was excellent. She has made major strides this year. I was very impressed with all of the 'field trips' and hands on activities. The principal is awesome! I HIGHLY recommend this school! The before and after care is very affordably priced and they started a homework club this year for a small fee which is great for us late working parents. My daughter is now reading everything she can and her math skills are outstanding. Education is only as good as parent involvement! We pay sports figures millions but teachers spend as much time with our children or more in some cases as the parents and get paid nothing! As parents we have to speak up, support the education system and our children!

We have been at West Gilbert for 3 yrs - Pre K 3, Pre K 4 and now all day Kindergarten.... I have to say the teachers at this level are great - my son has done wonderful. I agree the office staff needs work, and I do not know much about the older grades, but for a 'first school' I think it's very good. My son will go to 1st grade at the district assigned school, however we are going to send our other child to Preschool & Kindergarten here as of now. I think the school has great potential - just needs more support and involvement. It has improved over the last 3 years we have been there

The school's accounting practices are a mess. It took them 5 months to straighten out my family's account. Our son is in his 3rd year here and doing well.(A 3rd grader now.) The academic structure is more demanding than the public system which is a plus. Be prepared, however, for a lot of homework. Teachers have been good. Our daughter is in their free all-day kindergarten and also enjoying it and doing well. We feel our children are valued and well-cared for. The down-side is the lack of band/orchestra/choir and sports. The school is always requesting help in the classroom from parents and encourages parental involvement.

We were very unsatisfied with this school due to lack of challenge, discipline and low academic expectation. Our son got straight A's all year long for doing practically nothing. He was behind once we transfered him to another school because they expect more of their students. He picked up a lot of bad habits for this school due to lack of teacher's involvement and care. I would not recommend this school to anyone. We also got a lot of junk advertisements coming home with our children everyday. It's like getting junk mail from the mail box. Totally ridiculous!

My son has been in this school for 3 years. The class sizes are too big. My son's 2nd grade class has 27 students with no teacher's aide. This school does not have the resources for students that are struggling. My son has problems in reading, and since the school has no programs to help him, I had to start him in the Sylvan learning program to get him the help he needed. The teachers at this school are high quality and very enthusiastic about teaching. The curriculum at this school is great compared to the district schools. I would recommend this school only if your child has no need for extra help.

This school does not do well with keeping gifted/advanced kids interested, challenged, and motivated. There is an excellent Pre-K thru K program. When we enrolled our son, we had heard from some other parents who had switched their children out of this school that the advanced kids were bored, and there was no enrichment program available. We decided to try it anyway since we knew other kids at the school. 1st grade is when the problem materialized. Our child is often bored in class and the only thing the teacher has to offer is 'helping the other kids'. I hightly recommend this school for Pre-K and All-day K, but if you child is advanced by 1st grade, this might not be the best choice. Limited enrichment programs.

Atmosphere is very positive, teachers are good. I did not care for the long pep rallies on Fridays, but there is a strong sense of community. Uniforms are a plus, and very flexible, however there could be a more rules regarding dress code. Middle school students often wear heavy makeup and have colored hair, and wear low cut pants. Boys are allowed pierced ears, even in very young grades. School is very clean, campus is well maintained. The drop off and pick up process goes smoothly. Staff and faculty all seem very happy which is felt by the students and parents. Overall, I was very happy with the school.

This is my sons second year west gilbert. I was'nt all that happy with this school because the class size i felt was to big for the teacher and the students especially in kindergarten. I felt that alot of the concerns i had could have been delt with if there was either a smaller class size or a teachers aid full day. The staff in the office is wonderful and the teaching staff is also great. For kindergarten if i could go back i more than likely wouldnt have sent him there. Next year for first grade i moght because the format is suppose to be completly different.

I have been disappointed with my son's experience at WG Charter. His all day kindergarten class size is 27 students. My son did not like this school. Academically we did not get what we were promised as classes were not 'accelerated' and in some areas were less rigorous than public school. Also, we were told that they would have a complete art, music and spanish program and these were significantly scaled back to less than once per week.

I have a child who is atending this school for the first year and is coming in to the eighth grade. She has come to harder Math and everything else is about the same. The homework is enough, but at the same time is not because she used to get at least 3 hours of homework a night at her other school. But yes I think she is coming into a better school then she has and has a better academic advantage at this school.

My 2 kids are going to start their 2nd term at Chancellor. I am satisfied with their approach to teach to every child based upon their ability to learn. I am disappointed with the Principal's approach to deailing with several administrative issues. Further, the after-school program is nothing but supervised day-care. I would hope they would change that to make it focused upon academics and homework completion. I am also concerned about the continued turn-over in administrative and teaching areas. Additionally, I was concerned about the recent Stat 9 scores being so low.

Teaching staff lacks quality. This years principal is better than last, but not enough consistency. Low overall test scores. Overall, the surrounding schools appear to be much better.

I have been very happy with the performance of the school and what my daughter has achieved. She has had two excellent teachers who have taken 100 percent interest in her abilities and have been educating her are her level of understanding. She has a good relationship with the students in her class and has never come home with a complaint. I am proud of what has been done and will continue to look forward to what is in store for her with Chancellor Charter School.

My daughter is a current first grader. She has attended the school since it opened (8/01.) Her teaches have been excellent. Each year her teaches have spent time identifing her strengths and weaknesses. They have given her positive feeback about her strengths and offered suggestions on how we, as a team, can improve weaknesses. My daughter is very happy at Chancellor. My husband and I look forward to having her enrolled through 8th grade.

So far we have been very pleased with Chancellor. We do wish, however that the disruptive kids would get put on 'red' and sent to the principals office sooner. A zero tollerance level would straighten them up in a hurry. They know what they can get away with. It bothers the kids who are trying to learn.

Profile Completeness

HONOR ROLL

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
