Kids here are unruly. Administration is clueless and inexperienced. No respect for teachers and I just feel sorry for the kids that accually want to learn. Classes are around 40 students.

The International Baccalaureate program is available as well as two to three semesters of calculus. The quality of instruction is average for a public school (with of course a few great teachers). The administration is terrible and bureaucratic, but that is also to be expected, although it can get in the way of the educational experience. For a good student with involved parents, this school would be fine.

i am very disappointed to see that the children at this high school for math and reading have scored lower than 40%! the fact that teachers decide whether or not they will intiate any sort of relatioship with students based on money and last names shows the true politics of the school. i would like for the principal to explain how is it possible that out of a student population with over 95% being of hispanic origin and almost 85% being able to fluently speak spanish, how the language arts (i.e spanish, french, and english) results came out below 30%.

The most outstanding feature of Nogales High School is their Senior Project. The Senior Project is a graduation requirement for All students. In the Senior Project the students write a research paper on a topic of their own choice, then apply the paper in a 20-hour hands-on project, document the application in a portfolio then give speech to a board of community members and teachers. I like that my son, a freshman, is thinking about his senior year challenge. I m glad too that he will have a significant challenge in the spring semester of his senior year. Mostly I like that because the Senior Project is an exhibition of skills, it shows the side of the students that AIMS can t.
