After attempting to work with the students, the administration at Summit seemed to only care about the bottom dollar and saving a buck. It is sad that quality teachers are not valued and encouraged to continue with students. urnover of teachers are expected.

Adminstration works hard to comply with NCLB and ensures that all teachers are Highly Qualified and teach to the Arizona state standards. Teachers are dedicated to the success of each and every student. English language learners are encouraged and welcomed.

This school needs a lot of improvement. Starting with the manangement. The principal just cares about money, he does not care for the school.

Most of the kids can't read and teachers are supportive. They say the kids can't do the work. They have block classes (one semester work in 6 weeks) for kids who are barely functioning.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.

For high schools, AIMS results, AYP status and graduation/dropout rates are used. Schools are identified as Excelling, Highly Performing, Performing Plus, Performing, Underperforming, Failing to Meet Academic Standards or Pending.
