Great teachers, awesome school. I am so glad that I chose this school for my daughter to attend.
This is my daughter's senior year class of 2012... yea, go Vikings! I love this school as much as my daughter; we had moved out of the district, but my daughter loves this school so much she takes the city bus to get there...My daughter is active on cheer for the last two years going on 3, swim, tennis, link crew as ambassodor for her school for all freshmen coming in, she is involved in community service; she has been nominated for several leadership programs in DC, Calfornia, and locally prescott UNI-Town and the best Choir ever. SHS has amazing faculty, staff and the principle has amazing leadership. Viking parents club is always involved in student affairs making the best events for SHS... I can't say enough for this excelling school for at least 6 years in a row !!! GO VIKINGS!
I had an awesome freshman year! The staff are so very helpful, the school events are the best, it's just an extraordinary school!
..... or as Koffka's saying 'The whole is other than the sum of its parts.' Meaning that SHS in reality as a whole represents the big picture independently, but the students depending on where your coming from experience something different leading to the same goal... an excelling education!
Very diverse school with great academics, great staff and great kids
I am a former student. Let us be perfectly honest here. There is a huge disparity of how students are treated by faculty. The wealthy student's of 'slope' fair far better than your students of the lower income bracket....let us say the barrio or hood kids. All the rave reviews sounds like polital correctness-try living on the lower income side before you brag about how well all students are treated...There are well behaved bright students on both sides!!!Let them all be treated consistently fair or your best alternative is step out of G.U.H.S.D and try P.U.H.S.D where the schools consistently treat all students fairly....Just simply my opinion but there are several others who I have heard agree.
i think the school is a good school i also think the MArching band is great!
Sunnyslope high is by far the best school in Phoenix Arizona. The students are wonderful, the classes are great but the faculty could work a little harder on focusing on individuals and their own special needs but other than that it is a great school.
I feel having two children to go through Sunnyslope that Sunnyslope High school is the best public high school located in Phoenix Arizona period...
Sunnyslope lives smack dab in the middle of a middle-upper class neighborhood and lower class one. This creates an interesting conglomerate of a school typically divided into cliques. The teachers there are typically very good at what they do and dedicated to the students' learning and progress. I have seen a lot of movement in administration and would love to see more stability as a whole in the district, but have been very happy with my student's experience there.
